I installed a group 31 Odyssey battery using a Rago fabrication battery cage that I welded some bits to to mount it to the studs behind the air box and the factory nuts in the side of the fender. What a pain in the neck this was; two days of measuring, welding and trial and error, not to mention the placement of a 77 pound battery without smashing anything. I saw a post by someone who mounted a group 31 in the same place and thought it was a great idea and then realized that they had had to remove the hood strut to make it work. I got everything in and tried to drop the battery in and got fouled on the strut. 2nd try with some spacers on the fender and et voila it was in.
I also mounted a Redarc 40 amp BCDC to charge the beast using a mounting plate from The longranger 4x4 Australia. Its for a Prado 150 but with some small modifications works with a 4runner and keeps the BCDC in the cool air in front of the radiator.

First time out on the beach with the 4Runner?? I’m sure you figured out later that leaving those off was a bad idea. Damn sand will get in the stem and make airing up your tires so much more fun :hatsoff:

Which Custom 67 product did you order? How did you affix it to the dash? Did you use RAM mount adaptors? I'm looking for a solution for the same location you used. How long did it take to come post order?

A little late as it was yesterday.
Took my new to me 2018 SR5 out for its maiden off road voyage. Got it filthy. Badly scuffed the passenger side front tire on a large stone hidden in the sagebrush in a sharp right curve and put a shallow, small, 1” cut in the sidewall. Badly pinstriped both sides of the body pushing through dense mountain mahogany impinging on the narrow trail. Got a quarter to third inch divot in my windshield when some out of state idiot blew by me doing at least 80 in a 55 construction zone, a chip seal project with fresh gravel.
What I did today. Vacuumed out the interior using the onboard 120v, 400w inverter and my shop vac; great because I didn’t have to string 50’ of extension cord. Wiped down interior surfaces. Had the windshield chip repaired at a local glass shop. Washed the 4Runner. Bought a Maguire’s scratch repair kit with drill mounted applicator in hopes it helps the still very obvious scratches. I’ll try it after the driveway gets in the shade later this afternoon.

Installed my CB radio/antenna. I installed the antenna on the C4 ladder, and ran the wires behind the ladder, and used zip ties to hide the wires (the blue zip ties have since been replaced with black).
I used the firestik firering to keep the wiring as low profile as possible. From a far, it looks like I'm running an antenna with no wiring....
