For the second set of XBALED halos, this time in 120mm...

All it took was a little shroud slicing with the trusty dremel. *edit - it does sit perfectly flush, but isn't glued down yet... DON'T WORRY

Also blasted and painted a spare shroud from the OEM housing I broke earlier in this whole ordeal to get a feel for what I wanted to do, aesthetic-wise.

Thinking about trying mineral spirits for removing the nasty TYC butyl rubber from the lenses... Anyone try that before?
 
Yay! Finally, blue-tinged iridium tips, glazed labeling, and much nicer manufacturing quality. You can DEFINITELY tell the difference between OEM and knockoff plugs. I went with the Denso IK20TT twin tips.

2. Disconnect the coil pack connector
3. Remove the 10mm bolt holding the coil pack, remove
4.Spark plug wrench + long extension + swivel + another extension... Crack loose

5. Add a wee bit of antisieze to threads (optional)
6. Install to snug + 1/8 turn (ish)
7. Install coil pack, holding bolt, and electrical.
8. Repeat for all 7 others (happy? [MENTION=149207]AuSeeker[/MENTION])

I'd say it was about due for new plugs! Feels a little better on acceleration and at idle in the cold temps here in Wisco.

... and FINALLY got the Butyl Rubber off the lenses!!!! :llama:
Took temperature. Lots of it, to be exact. Heat gun, pliers, burnt fingers, and beer to make it go faster.

Then mounted up the projectors and sealed up the backside of 'em! Got creative with the clear grommet supplied by Morimoto and the "OEM" black one. (pic shown with bulb for test fit)

Yeah! Then I'll be changing that one same plug out every week with my other 7 brand new ones to flush out that cylinder. (kinda like a Tranny fluid flush).

My local pro shop said it was best to do it this way. I still have yet to fill up the blinker fluid reservoir with the gallon they sold me for $149.99....

OK that's makes more sense, you definitely need to get that cylinder flushed out properly!

I would however jump on that blinker fluid ASAP, if you don't you will never be able to turn the steering wheel!! :eek:

NO WAY! So that's why my steering feels so funny. Unless it's normal to have the rig do a crisp U-turn whenever a large retail store, jam-packed with last minute shoppers, rampaging un-attended children, and electric mobility cart-riding elderly comes into sight... Idk, I might let the blinker fluid run low like this for a while!

Step 642: 1 Minute Epoxying the halos onto the Profile Hi-Lens LED's

The splitters I used to connect the OEM high beam outputs to both the high beam solenoid and the Profile Hi-Lens on each side of the truck.

I'll post a diagram of the wiring at some point, but it was pretty straightforward. The only big difference than my last retro would be the quad highs and the fact that I bought D2H bulbs to match the ballast wiring...
 
Next up, tape the lenses on the housings and mount them up to verify fitment, even cutoff, and that I did my wiring right!
