What did you do to/in your 5th Gen today?!

Went wheeling and had a blast. Only minor damage was this little gouge in the sidewall of my driver front KO2. Doesn't look that bad, but also not really wanting to **** around and find out with a damaged sidewall. Worth replacing?

I think you’d be crazy not to replace it. I’ve risked it and tire blew, but I was lucky. I’ve seen a blown tire cause body damage that costs way more than a tire. But that’s just my thoughts on it.

I agree with the other poster, I would definitely replace. It may be time anyways judging from the pic of the sidewalls and part of the tread.

Parked by a semi-stock TRD Pro at the grocery store. It gave me a sense of just how far my ORP has come in the last year.

Great work to an already amazing rig!

Yep totally agree with you guys. I said screw it and just bought a new one. They have ~16k miles on them and a couple dozen wheeling trips. Another one has a patch/plug in it.

Spare is brand new though so gonna put the new tire on, put the spare on, and then turn the patched tire into my spare for now

Busy couple of weeks from stock (purchased) to fun. Added tires and wheels, tnted the glass, installed LED interior lights, and added nerf bars. I really like and appreciate this site!~

Good choice. :AK47:

Added dark grey metallic overlays to my TRD Pro emblems, so that they would stand out better on a black 4Runner.
This way everyone knows I paid more. My banned buddy YS would be proud.

At the risk of sounding like a dumb newbie, I have a question for the membership regarding an engine performance mod for the gen 5 4R's... I am about to pull the trigger on a new 4R, but after test driving one over the weekend, I must admit that it seems a bit lacking in low end torque and HP.... I've been doing some research, and while there is a lot of info on the MAGNUSON - TVS1320 Supercharger, there seems to be almost no feedback on what looks to me would be much simpler (air to air vs. air to water) ATI Procharger unit, 1TK212-SCI. Yes, the ATI unit is a little more money, but it appears to be a much simpler installation, and it claims to produce more HP at 7lb. of boost vs. the Magnuson unit at 6 lb. Does anyone have any experience with the ATI system? Thanks for any input or advice!

maybe check out an explorer ST IMO.

It depends on where you think the 4runner needs the power.

Procharger will make more power up top as it acts more like a turbo than an actual blower.

Magnuson will make most of its torque in the bottom and power thru out the power band and tapers off at redline.

I personally think that the magnuson would make the 4runner more of a joy to drive around town. Because it will be more responsive to the throttle input.

As for the 7psi vs 6psi ... its negligible as once it gets cooled in the air to air intercooler and travel all that way thru the charge pipes ... the 1psi difference wont make a difference. Depending on the efficiency of the intercooler that 7psi might be 6psi when it enters the intake manifold.

I hope this helps

Since I've added the bumper, winch, and light bar (with more lights in the future plan), it was time to also upgrade the battery. I'd ordered a new one from Batteries Plus and it arrived yesterday.

So today, my X2Power AGM went in. This one will be my primary and didn't want to change much up front, so I got the 24F with 840CCA and 76Ah. Dropped right in, only slightly heavier than the factory Panasonic, but a lot more juice. Now to look at doing the GM diode mod to boost the charging.

I may or may not add a second battery in the future, but a roof rack mounted solar panel and charging system is in the plan.

Headed up 395. Saw sign for lookout mtn. Drove up mtn (really a small hill). Looked out. Drove down. Continued on my way. 1st time I got to run in 4wd. Prob didn’t need to, but, when in Rome (or Mono co.)

Thieves smashed my windows, but failed to get inside, so I replace it with some gullwing windows.....

I probably wouldn't buy these just to buy these...no point.... but if you live in a country where it is legal to be a criminal like kaliforniastan...then sure why not...

Just remember they will just break the other windows...lol.

no rattles at all. It comes pre-assembled so no user/installer error.

Yeah, if they release a clear/plexiglass for the passenger side, i probably would get those. I want to be able to see my blind spot..old school like that. I'm hoping they come out with it.

For now, I only bought it because a thief kind of forced me to purchase 1 window vs say a pair of windows.

So, today I finished this Side Mirror Turn Signal Black-Out Mod.

I previously had sequential mirror turn signal lights and was not really as pleased as I thought I would be... so now they are for sale on Mercari.
I bought some OEM take offs from Mercari and decided to try something.

Taped off & 6 coats of VHT Nightshades
The very rear of the lens was taped so all of the light would be seen from the rear.
6 coats of Duplicolor Perfect Match Clear Top Coat (acrylic),
Buffed them with Adam's Paint Correction Polish to take make them satin
