Pic Request: 3rd gen w/2.5-3" lift, 33x12.5r15's

I want to see what my truck will look like with this setup that I'm looking at. I have an 01 SR5. I want to do a 2.5" suspension lift and get 33x12.50r15 wheel/tire combo. I am also looking into '99 springs. Any pix would be awesome! Thanks guys!

99 springs wont fit the 33's

blocks only work with leaf springs, coil spacers would work, but will stress your shocks and springs.... if you plan on using your truck at all.... spend the 650 and buy a suspension lift.... dont go the cheap route as you will just have to spend the 650 later anyways when you break something....

the wear on my BFG Muds has been incredible... i now have put over 40k miles on them (47k to be exact) and they still have somewhat viable tread left on them, i need to replace them very soon, but the thought of going to an 18 with some terragrapplers and throw some super swampers 34x9.5 on the stockies keeps drifting through my head, but i dont expect to get anywhere enough money to even contemplate doing that...

no unfortunatly i have not been able to go wheeling lately... im really busy with school... also since i got in that wreck in february and my ARB mounts damaged i havent wanted to go anywhere. as of tomorrow i am sending my 9.5xp back in to be worked on (AGAIN!!!) and ordering the new ARB mounts. so i would say next month im gonna have some supreme wheeling pictures... i have been itchin to go, im just waiting to fix my truck so i dont break anything important

gotcha. knock on wood, but i havent yet had any major issues and have been wheelin' a lot in the last couple months.

hope you get the ol' girl back in shape soon!

you will rub like hell with only a 2.5" lift and 33's.

er... no he wont

not like hell... he'll have to do some trimming and pound the pinch weld, but he will be fine.
 
I agree with lee. im only at 2.5 inchs front 3 rear and im not rubbing at all considering im trimed some plastic shrouding and beat the living #### out of my pinch weld both sides. Id rather have more clearance so thats where my 2in bl comes in

yeah... and i agree with myself, lee and blake...

i am currently running a 2.5" suspension lift, with a full steel bumper (110lbs) and a winch (80lbs) and 33" mud terrains, and i ONLY rub when im at full compression and turning...

sure i dont have running boards or much of that pinch weld left, and i have infact cut some of my fender out... but not enough to make it look cut...
 
Thats going to be a crapload of pinch weld pounding and trimming....

Please show pics of how much pinch weld pounding you guys have done...

I barely cleared 33x11.5x16 Mud Grapplers with a 2.5" lift and 2" BL and pounding the daylights out of the pinch welds...

Lee... try taking off your 1" BL and see how badly you will rub on simple turns...

Runnerup & Nelli... Your 285/75/16's can not compare to 33x12.5's in terms of width... The extra 1" in tire width is what's going to be the problem while turning.

But if you guys still insist he will still clear without rubbing on turns, I won't argue with it anymore...

it really wasnt that much.... atleast, not that i remember... i clear the 285/75's and only rub at full compression and full lock on the steering wheel, and then i only rub on my frame (not badly) and my upper A-arm (fixable)

i think there has been some confusion...

he WILL not rub with 33"s (in the 11.5" width).... he would of course rub with 33x12.5s, although i dont think lee is having any issues, which wheels were you using when you had the 285's grimpy? stock toyota's?

also, im not attempting to compare a tire that is an inch wider with mine, all i said was that with 285/75/16's and a 2.5" suspension lift and minor pounding/trimming, he wont rub....

thing is you didnt specify a 12.5 inch width or a 305/70/16 tire.

so I assumed you were talking about a 11.5 which is when I said that.

with a 4 inch backspaced wheel like the mt classic 2s or pro comp alloys.. they wont rub much if you trim some. even without a body lift. body lift just helps clear em under compression.

i have 4 1/4 backspaced 16x8 trd wheels.. they clear a arms without a problem. stock wheels would have had to have spacers. stock wheels are pointless with 33s inless you like the look of em.
 
The size I was referring to is the size listed at the title of the thread... 33x12.5's...

When I had the 33's, they were 33x11.5x16 Nitto Mud Grapplers... Had them on 16x8's with a 4" BS.

When I said rub like hell, I mean rubbing anything that is not plastic, ie the car body itself...

To agree with you guys though... *with enough* cutting and pounding, you can fit true 33's on the 4Runner with only a 2.5" lift...


I also noticed he listed 15" tires.... Doesn't the 01 SR5's come with 16's stock? Can 15's even clear the calipers?

am i able to fit 33x12.5 tires in a 4 inch suspension lift without trimming or anything else?

the 1"BL just made me rub a little lower on the pinch weld... it didnt eliminate rub or make it that much better. i also have my swaybars disconnected, so i sway into rubs as well.

that said, the rub is minor, and once you do some trimming and cutting/pounding of the pinch weld, you are just fine.

everyone has their own definition of what rub is acceptable, the fact that mine only rubs on full stuff is fine for me.

yes, but a 4" suspension lift will KILL your cv's.
