Installed the bumper on my buddy's truck in 100deg heat and 2 days later he gets rear-ended. The 3-piece bolted seam pulled apart, bumper fix tbd. He'll need a new bed quarter panel it's bowed out above the wheel.

Curious if you've seen this and your thoughts on the bump steer being fixed.

@4RunnerAquasport I haven't seen that product, these are my numbers I measured on the computer so they could be more or less accurate than real life idk.

1.5* is still 4.5 times worse than stock steering rack at .34* across 12.5" of travel.

There's only so much room between the brake shield and steering rack.

That's what I was thinking. My memory is horrible, but I do remember the clearance on the shield was only a fraction of what we needed. That's why I asked.

I guess the 5th gen rack is the newest latest greatest steering upgrade in the GX crowd.

Im still on an 8 year old 4th gen reman w 315/70/17s. I guess 37s are the metric for a steering upgrade.

I did the Rubicon on a stock rack and stock tie rods on 37s with stock CVs. And some KS and Colorado wheeling. If I had the means would I upgraded before doing the Rubicon again? Yes. But not really required.

That's impressive. I would say lack of experience in the rocks (myself included) and poor spotting, may be the reason for a lot of the failures over the years. That and the Tacoma guys finding out their stock rack can't handle Prerunner jumps and whoops at 70 mph.
