So, I just finished bolting up my Budbuilt sliders - first let me start by saying these things are awesome - I got the regular bumpouts (not the beefy) and I can't imagine what the beefies must be like.
So, a couple of words of advice for the install. If you have a trail, on the drivers side unbolt the gas tank skid, brake line retainer... pretty much everything along the side / bottom of the frame rail. The slider goes under all of that. I ditched the factory bolts and used Bud's hardwear when reinstalling. Oh, also, there are these little plastic rocker guard ends on the rear, take those off - you'll see - just little plastic rectangles.
As for paint, I went with Rustoleum Self Etching Primer and Black Hammered Finish. A couple of notes about this:
1. Black is not black
2. Have a paint shop paint them.
I took them to the local body shop with my Home Depot spray cans and had them do it. They sanded it, primed it, put 6 coats of spray on, and baked them for $100. I got them back the same day. Awesome.
Now, on to the kind of cool part - that hammered black over that self etching primer nearly perfectly matches the Magnetic Grey. It looks really really nice - and with it baked on there were hardly any marks from the install, and where there were I touched up and you can't even tell.
Also, don't do these by yourself... particularly when it's raining... particularly when it's 50 degrees out... particularly when you no longer fit in the garage... but that's another story.

it's Race Point in Provincetown - when you hit the beach, go left ... and keep going. This is the very end (the absolute "tip" of Massachusetts). It's really beautiful. You can literally sit there and watch seals play and whales pass by only a few yards out - not to mention great fishing.
