I'm just getting a feel here. For all you scooped hood owners, if a local non-scooped T4R owner offered you $500 to swap hoods (same color, obvs), would you do it?

I get the glare too, but I agree it finishes the look of the 4Runner. Mine is definitely not for sale!

Same here, no way! I'm sure there is a price at which I would accept the trade, but $500 is not close. I like the look of the scoop and hope to fill the hole with a light bar at some point. Like some others I've never once been "blinded by glare" so far between my 14TEP or 04 Sport.

I’ve done a few mods to mine so I’m keeping it.
(Added anti-vibration stiffening and under hood lighting). Also got the hood scoop area vinyl wrapped in light gray color matte finish, so no more glare. Plus, $500 is not enough for the PIA factor of removing it and installing another.

I don't have a hood scoop but I have sourced all the parts for one separately. Everything is in CAD:
* OEM primered hood was $250 delivered.
* Black hood scoop insert $110 delivered
* $300 CAD to prep and paint the hood scoop with 2 stage paint (this includes removal of the OEM hood and installation of new hood)
* $120 for PPF film that I'm installing myself
Apparently, the hood scoop is worth $780 CAD to me cause that's what I'm putting into it lol

No… since the model I have (2010-13 Trail) is arguably most unique, utilitarian and best looking 4Runner ever (aka “unicorn”)… I have no rights to alter\change any original body panels as that action would disturb the prime form and balance of the masterpiece. :artist:... LOL

gonna have to disagree with you there. Personally find the pre-facelift T4R to be kinda ugly.

I called Pickering Toyota (east of Toronto) for a OEM primered hood with Insert and he told me $1100 and another $600 for the paint shop that dealership uses.
Id drive a few hours to get your deal for $780
even Huntparts.ca wants $400 for a non OEM CAPA 4Runner Hood With Scoop without insert.
