Lot of great info, getting ready to R & R my tranny, 96' 3.4 limited 4x4. This has answered some questions. Mine threw a code, shift solenoid #3, when I drained the oil it looked like someone dumped a can of neversize in it. 214,000 mi. time to go. ugh!

Talked to my Toyota dealer "never seen that problem" bring it in and we will trouble shoot for $250.00. Any ideas where to start, I pulled seat and unplugged what I thought was the seat switch, no help.

Yep, I have no warning light until I buckle the seatbelt. Then it flashes, it is the drivers side. Any Ideas ? THX

I couldn't find a electric shop that could rebuild the cluster. I ended up buying a cluster at a junk yard for $150.00. All good now except my odometer reading is alot higher. :confused:

Just an update, I found a cluster at a junk yard for $150.00 and 30 min. later all was good...except my odometer reading is ALOT higher now.Looking for some one who can reset it. Toyota won't touch it.

Mine happened about 6 mo. ago then again last week and hasn't reset. I'd rather be lucky than good, :wink2: THX

I know this is a old post, but...My '05 T4R Limited has done the same thing except the tach, speedo, water temp and seat belt light has not started back working. Was there ever a fix for this?

BlackWorksInc thanks for your input, the scanners shows no codes, the odometer just flashes "ODO" trip meter seams to working and I found that the temp gauge is non-op also. I thinks I am off to a Auto Electric shop, good suggestion. Thanks again

Any Ideas? Will a code scanner pick up problem if there is no warning lights lit? Really don't want to take it to the dealer $$$ :fear: THANKS

They don't move at all. Also the seat belt warning light starts flashing after I hook up my seat belt and goes out when I disconnect my seat belt.

This was an intermittent problem. Tach, speedo and odometer non op. Everything else is working. I could disconnect neg batt. lead and reset. Now it won't reset. Acts like a relay or bad connection. Any Ideas ? 2005 2WD V6 auto

Hey Guys, new to the site.I see a lot of good info from guys that been there done that. I just picked up a 1995 with 170,000 on a 3.0. I see that there is head problems with the 3.0. I heard that Toyota had a recall at one time to replace the head gaskets. I also heard that with the late 95 3.0...
