Thanks Stif. What do you mean 2 diff measurements? You mean the 71.5" height (w/ factory rails) vs. 70.4" (w/o) rails? And I've been told that the BGF AT 285's are slightly smaller in diameter than say a GY duratrac which may help a little.

Thanks for the advice. You're right about 4WP. I actually picked up my wheels and tires from them because with the minimal shipping cost, it was the best deal for me on the island. It's too bad they don't carry the racks that I'm looking for.

Thanks for the helpful responses. The more and more I look at it, I may not be able to do the 3" w/ 285s. I'm not sure if 2-12" kits are avail out there and go with 275s?

I believe the 77" is with the factory installed roof rails. I've been told I could take these off as you suggested, but I'd rather keep them if at all possible for my boards.
