Why not pm [MENTION=68101]Hawaiian4runner[/MENTION], he lives there; perhaps he knows what's involved in shipping 'aftermarket parts' to Hawaii. "Just a thought"!

shipping armor and racks is really expensive to hawaii. its best to contact a manufacturer and possibly get talks of a hawaii group buy to save on shipping costs.
we just did a pelfreybilt group buy for hawaii in the tacoma forums, we didnt get our final invoice yet but we had a pretty damn big order put in. I can get back to you once we get our final invoice in and see what we r paying for shipping. I got a rear bumper for the taco, but id like a rack for the 4runner too.
even for suspension and other parts, group buys will save us guys in hawaii a ton.

Yeah I wouldn't mind this, however, I think the number of Taco owners in Hawaii that modify stock vehicles greatly outnumber 4Runner owners in Hawaii. I feel like in Hawaii, a 4Runner is basically the soccer mom vehicle now. Anyway, I've been in contact w/ Gobi and will let you know of the shipping quotes.

I'm sure they can ship to Hawaii but it will be crazy expensive. I end up buying heavy or bulky parts from 4 Wheels Parts. They do not carry most of the products you mentioned but they do carry "sort-of" equivalent stuff. When you factor in shipping, their prices are pretty good. There are a couple of nice, knowledgeable guys there so I don't mind spending my $$$ locally.
Thanks for the advice. You're right about 4WP. I actually picked up my wheels and tires from them because with the minimal shipping cost, it was the best deal for me on the island. It's too bad they don't carry the racks that I'm looking for.
yeah tacoma guys here mod more often lol. 4runners not so much. BUT I know when companies have group buys it isnt necessarily just for one specific thing (sometimes it is). I just ordered wet okoles thru the tacoma GB and got a set for my taco and 4runner.

Worst case scenario, if you can't get a group buy together, and the manufacturer won't ship to Hawaii, ship the rack to a local braddah on the west coast and have them ship it to you.
I've done that a couple times for friends back home, it helps a little to have a business with a business UPS account too!

When I was tere Rich with Ohana trails helped me out. I piggied back his container out of California to Hawaii getting my beadlocks and tires from Metal Tech.
Also talk with 4 wheel parts in Pearl City. They can help get some things.
