Home link and a genie opener

For the next poor slob that runs into this. 2016 4Runner 7155LD Genie garage door opener, purchased at Home Depot in 2024. There are a couple of small buttons on the Genie opener/motor, on one side near one of the LED lights. I have no idea what these buttons are, and they are not needed...

Home link and a genie opener

Spent a few hours Saturday installing a new Genie garage door opener. Since then I have spent a few hours trying to get the HomeLink button working. I will now gladly pay anyone a thousand dollars to get the HomeLink button to work. By the way, I am a ****ing software engineer!

    Battery during pandemic...

Thanks for the replies, brothers! You gave me new faith in my factory-installed Panasonic battery, and after a few hours on a charger, she's starting like a charm. I guess my occasional short trips haven't been enough to keep the battery happy. I'd put a tender on it if it was in my garage...

    Battery during pandemic...

My 2016 is clicking away when I try to start it. I just threw a charger on it minutes ago, and I'll see how it behaves after a charge. I'm in the northeast, and driving mostly short trips just a few times a month. But it's also the original battery, so maybe it's nearing end of life. If I...

Michelin Defender LTX M/S? Looking for quieter than Bridgestone H/T.

I'm looking to replace my 2016 SR5's original 265/70/17 Bridgestone Dueler H/T tires, which always seemed excessively noisy at highway speeds, and do not have a lot of tread left at 33K miles. Mostly highway miles. Average-to-"spirited" driving style. I'm looking for a quieter ride, longer...

    Hood protector for 2016 4Runner...

Thank you, my 4Runner brothers! Turns out I like the look of the Toyota hood protector. Subtle difference, but the ends are less rounded, and do not extend beyond the width of the hood. And the Smithtown NY dealership by me had them on sale! Still pricey at $95, but might as well get the one...

    Hood protector for 2016 4Runner...

My Google-fu isn't working today. I'm finding too many results, with not enough details to know what I'm getting (black vs clear, the actual protector or just a "hardware kit", and some sites don't even show the 4Runner, they show pictures of other vehicles). Also the prices are all over the...

WTT: Looking for 5th gen white hood with scoop, willing to trade my white hood

Love the scoop. Hated the interior in the models that came with it (glossy surfaces... in 2016 anyway). Did you ever replace your hood?

More than one type of running boards on 2016 models?

Last week I saw a 2016 SR5 Premium at a dealer with running boards that looked factory installed (looked like they belonged), and I thought looked great. They looked durable, and had a chrome strip along the length of the outside edge. Today at another dealer I saw what looked like a slimmer...

    After-factory moonroof...

I was considering it based on the fact that Toyota would do the work, and use Toyota parts. Still... I got on here and posted first thing. :)

    After-factory moonroof...

Thanks... They had no Premiums on the lot, and are going to call me when they do. Is the suspension different on the Trail? Stiffer? I'll be spending most of my time on the road.

    After-factory moonroof...

Hi everybody.... Shopping for a 2016... but it seems you can only get a moonroof with the Premium or Limited. However, they are quick to offer installing the moonroof on a regular SR5. Has anybody had Toyota do this? Or seen the results? I'm concerned it won't look the same, and possibly...

2 runners and can only keep one...what to do...

It seems like your collection is incomplete. Have you considered getting another job. And a bigger driveway?

    97 4runner braking problem

My '98 needs its rear brakes adjusted fairly often. I think you might be ready for new pads and getting the rears adjusted again.

    Restoring that like-new ride on a 1998 4Runner...

Didn't see this in my inbox for some reason. Belated answer... My mechanic said he didn't see anything that looked overly worn or problematic. Still, I believe replacing the bushings, TRE's, and ball joints would probably tighten things up quite a bit. But I think I need to find a mechanic...
