RC Gas Powered Cars

Awhile back for a B-day present I thought it would be fun to have a gas powered RC Card. After getting it I got it started once, and it would not start again. I took it to the hobby guy and he could only get it started once, and not again. Well after much deligation, and more we were able to come to an agreement and I got some of my money back. To make a long story short I am now left with a bad taste in my mouth about getting involved with those things. However, my buddy is telling me how is going to get one, and now I am getting that itch back. But it was so hard to get it started just those two times that I don't know. I am wondering, is that common or did I have one that was defective?

It is hard to say if it was defective or not without actually messing with it. If the guy at the Hobby Shop had a hard time getting it going, I would think it was defective.

It is funny you brought this up. About 4 years ago I got interested in RC's again. My first truck was a Traxxas Rustler, an electric 2WD stadium truck. After bashing around with that for a while I decided to get a Traxxas E-Maxx, an electric 4WD, twin motor, monster truck. That thing is really cool, but of course I was needing a little more. After seeing the piles of RC magazines in my office and our den, my wife gave me a Traxxas REVO for my birthday in July. It is Nitro powered and has been completely redesigned from the previous T-Maxx. It is blazing fast. The only thing I have done so far was to paint a new shell. I am just waiting for all the aftermarket stuff to start coming out before I do much more. The main thing was following the break-in process for the motor. Since then, it has been great!
