Although i agree that an experienced thief can get into anything, i also do not want to hand it to them on a silver platter!!

In addition, with desparate times, we're going to see more amateur theives/highschool punks trying to break into homes/cars. So, every little thing helps IMO.
In fact, over the next few weeks, we're getting a metal front door with glass and iron bars. No, it is not those "in-the-hood" type doors. It is something like this:
Basically, it is a steel door with iron bars in front (in any design you want). Insulated glass is behind the iron bars. This is great for safety because it allows you to open the glass panel (from the inside) and still have a locked door with iron bars in front for protection. This allows you to receive small packages, talk to people, etc. without ever having to open your front door. I feel a lot better with this door when my wife (& kids) are at home alone. And these days, i always answer the door with a loaded & chambered gun hidden behind me. Paranoia gets the best of me sometimes....
