Haven't seen much in the way of this but just picked up some cheapies to rebuild down the road. Not sure if I want to do a slight lift (keeping it under 3") or not.

many people have done the limited suspension mod. basically when xreas leaks to the point you need new hard lines they rip it out and install a standard suspension set up. some people have xreas blow out early , others it lasts years. I have 180k miles on my limited and have only had to do suspension work once since new. I got about 150k miles out of the factory xreas and replaced with another xreas since I noticed one small weep very early and was able to replace the shocks and leave the hard lines

I have an '03 Limited that I'm running Dobinson IMS on. Removed the xreas several years ago and originally replaced with 4600 Bilstien and FJ springs but Bils are a little harsh on the street so switched to Dob IMS couple of years ago, much less harsh. Removing xreas is not a big deal.

no it links the opposing corners together via hydraulics (X thats where it comes from). its different than KDSS and a lot of people hate XREAS because its a pain to fix, its a closed system for the most part so if you have a large leak you need not only new shocks but new hard lines too and an actuator etc. it can costs a few thousand to replace. much more than standard shocks. but to give it credit, when xreas is working its not a bad system. its a better ride than stock non XREAS
