Has anyone actually done any dyno testing of these FIPK kits done by K&N (or others)?
There seems to be a lot of conflicting info on their performance results. Some say that TRD has done some tinkering and determined that they actually result in lower output, while K&N and others say you will get better throttle response and up to 10% horsepower/torque increase.
Who is correct?
Also, some have talked about the vulnerability of the K&N cold air box replacement to water and mud. I live in Colorado where (those of you who have endured our 100 year drought know) we have very little water. I don't see myself crossing any rivers, or any large standing bodies of water, so I don't see a major problem there.
However, I do drive through some very deep snow. Should I be concerned with the snow kicking-up into the air filter? or is this only really a concern if the truck is actually submerged in deep pools?
Thanks in advance for any help and advise,
Jason
