01 4Runner - dash pulling away on Passenger side

Hi - I have an '01 4Runner, and the dash pad is pulling away under the passenger side airbag, towards the center stack. I pulled the glovebox down and out, thinking that it was a clip or something like that that had come loose and I could try to refasten it but apparently not. Has anyone else experienced something like this, or have suggestions on how to refasten, or at least get the dash to lay flat again?

Thanks for the help - this site has been a great read so far!

I am glad you posted this. I have the exact same issue on my 2000 T4R LTD. I was thinking it might be a plastic clip that became brittle after 14 years and failed but there is nothing there. I have just about decided to mix up to epoxy and put underneath this area and then jam a adjustable post between this area and the passenger's seat to keep it pressed down until the epoxy cures.....might be a nutty idea but in Alabama heat, this dash corner seems to be popping out more and more. If you find a solution, please let me know! Thanks!

Apparently it's a feature! Mine does is a small amount, not enough to bug me, but i suppose if i had to try to fix it some kind of quick setting epoxy might be worth a try then figure out how long to apply pressure, hmm.

I think someone posted a few years ago that it was supposed to be glued in. It must be a feature since mine had been that way for years... Are you guys sure the epoxy won't mess up passenger airbag?
