What was wrong with the 5150's? They are already better than 99% of the shocks people own on this website.

Gonna sell them? May be interested..



BTW love those hood lifts. I have also been eying that mod for a while now. My hood lift pole is on its last leg, literally.

Any more info on those??



BTW, dont know if you remember, but we decided to stick with the f150 for a while instead of getting that tundra, its paid off and all. Added a leveling kit and some bigger BFG AT's.

The 5150's were WAY too soft - I could compress the back end super easily with my skinny 190lb frame. Add a 65lb dog and gear, well the back end had the tendency to soak up everything just a little too much causing the back end to wander / jar. Now that the shocks are stiffer in the top end the ride is vastly improved, even without swaybars. The dial adjusts from 1 - 8, 1 being '20' and stock valving being '30' which is similar to the stiffest Bilstein valving for the 5150 - for comparison, I currently have the Fox shocks set at 5 out of 8. Could probably go to 6 comfortably without the ride being to stiff.

Addison knew of my plans for the Fox shocks long ago and spoke for the Bilsteins. They're all his!

I think I have some 12" 5150's kicking around... Tried installing them in stock location and that wasn't happening. Decided to go 10", then outboard 10" as it compliments the LC springs nicely (aka the shock tops out just before the spring drops off the perch).

The hoodlifts are from Redline Tuning and specifically the Elite version. I am super happy with them and the install was easy. As long as you have access to a rivet gun - the only item I had to buy (for $20 I think).

EDIT - if the F-150 is paid for then that's better than going into debt for a Tundra!

I'm trying to dig up info on my Bilsteins. I don't want to take them off and measure them out but I'm wondering if your 5150's are the same extended and compressed length as my 5100's? I know you said they are the 10" ones but I'm thinking mine are 8". I'll let you know asap regarding the rears if I can use em or not.

Damn, I want Fox's.... they just LOOK the part, I bet they perform even better.

Added my 1" Body Lift yesterday and today - Toytec decided to troll me and not send appropriately sized bolts so... a trip to home depot and I was in business this am.

I think cause' everything is black it works - I'm not too thrown off by the body lines and hopefully it will be easier clearing 35" tires when the time comes.

Noticed you also changed your corner lenses to clear ones, huh? What will it take to bring the front boompah back up? I feel bad for those really nice projectors..which I really like, too!

lol oh the quest for 35's already.... Looks good, might look a tad better if you could bump the bumper up a little but by no means a deal breaker. You got the clearance you need for 35's!

I don't think the projectors are being affected much, if at all. Do the hoops block the high beam pattern at all? I'm thinking no....

Yep - I figured I would try to wiggle them out and had success.

I have plans to change the hoops on the front bumper at some point to increase the clearance between the bumper and the front grill.

The process for cutting and re-welding my mounts for my ARB to accommodate for the 2" body lift wasn't all that hard. Just a little tedious. It does look fine with everything being black but I assure you it would look really good bumped up. I don't know what the process is for yours though.

By the way, why was the p4300 such a PITA?

I will have to take a good look at how the Shrockworks mounts up and where it would be modifiable. From what I recall there is some play in the slotted holes but one bolt holds it from slipping... (required drilling through mount).

The AVH-P4300 was a PITA because of the add-on's that went with it:
- Bluetooth adapter (required mounting the mic in a discrete location, wanted to only do it once so I took my time getting it where I wanted without much wire showing).
- Back-up Camera (just had to route all the way to the back discretely, removing inner plastic the whole way around - also had to tap into reverse light wire on passenger side to allow auto engagement when in reverse, once again, doing it once and doing it right).
- Switch for DVD player parking brake bypass (first switch blew up - piece of crap 2 position rocker from Canadian Tire disintegrated in my hands while trying to wire it up - made use with a 3 position rocker I had kicking around)

Other than those snags it works beautifully! Super happy with the results.

Yea, I don't really need the bluetooth and doubt I'll mount a camera. I will however do the parking brake by-pass. Pioneer just came out with a new line of double dins. I'm thinking of waiting till February and just getting the new p4400bh with built in bluetooth and hd radio. Haven't decided yet.

First of all sickest 4-runner ive seen. Where did you order these headlights or get them from? I have been looking for a pair of black headlights with projectors for the longest time.

do you have a wright up for the snorkel install? im gonna be doing mine here in the next week or two, and i dont want to F it up...its looking strait forward but the hole drilling is making me nervious and i cant find a templet except for one that requires you to remove the fender(i cant do this because my sliders are tucked too tight... :dammit::ybrick::bash::rockthrow.

It looks harder then it really is if u read the thread posted on Yotatch a few times and just measure twice and take it nice and slow...
