My engine blew- I posted about it a few weeks ago. It's just downright going to cost too much to fix! 5000-5200! That's with a used engine at 85000 miles and everything attached to it being new plus all labor in that quote.
I think I have to sell the frame.
Where would I go to do that? Who buys frames with no engine? And how much do you think I could get for it?
I am so sick about this! :(

Ya you need to find better friends that can hook you up. You should pay no more than $800-$1000 for a used 3.4, and a shop that works with toyotas should be able to do a motor swap in an 8 hour day, maybe a bit of loose ends for a couple hours on day two. So call it 12 hours at $90 an hour...

$1000 motor
$1000 labor
$200 misc little crap

Cost:
I've been to a couple shops now and the cheapest has been over 3000 but they can't find me a motor I guess they've been looking nearly3 full weeks do I was sick of waiting. They said its too expensive what they've found so they can't do it for that cheap.
So in the meantime I went two other places ones up to 6000 and this other says between 5000-5200. This other one is doing a lot with it timing belt, water pump, etc. but every motor that's been found has been around 2000+. So they're getting me the cheap 2000 motor but then laboratory another 2000ish they said and then the timing belt all the other junk takes it that high.

I just can't afford that! There's one other place I could look into out here- maybe ill go today. But I think realistically I have to start looking at selling it as is. How woul I go about doing that? Any ideas?

Where in California are you? I would post it on craigslist and try to find a buyer. If you post some pictures and details (mileage, 4wd?, maintenance history) we could probably come up with a good starting price.
