02 sensor bank 1. Driver or pass. Side?

I have a 2004 V8. I got code P0031 which is 02 sensor bank 1 sensor 1. I know it's the sensor by the manifold/CAT. Doing research on which side, and some say passenger and some say driver side. Anyone know for sure which side bank 1 is?

Bank 1 is driver's side for the V8. It's passenger side for the V6. That's probably why you're getting confusing answers. Depends on the engine.

I've attached a picture that helps a lot.

Oh darn it. I just swapped mine this past weekend but I have the V6 so I got this wrong. Have I done any damage to o2 sensors? Car has less than 20 miles since I put in new Densos.

Luckily it should take me about 30 minutes to set up and replace them since I just did it.

The sensors are identical on both sides of the engine, so you won't have done any harm by putting the new one in the wrong side. However, you will have to do it over to actually fix your problem.

I'd just buy another new one and put it in. If one of the sensors went bad, likely the other one isn't far behind.

Is anyone able to share how they removed Bank 1 Sensor 1 O2 sensor for the 4th gen 4Runner V6? Cannot seem to figure this out? Tried to remove the exhaust bracket but can't seem to do that unless the entire cat is removed? Thoughts or suggestions greatly appreciated!
