'02 Sport Rear Defroster not working-searched

Getting to be about that time of the year and went to use my rear defroster on my 2002 4Runner.

I've searched and heard about the rear window, wiper arm, and defroster not working since they are all linked together, but just not the defroster. couldn't find any information on just that issue.

My wiper and rear window both work. Light on dash lights up when pressed, and the only defroster lines that want to work are the very bottom line and the very top line.

I inspected every line on the window just in case they were damaged or what have you but everything checks out.

Any ideas?

I think there's a separate fuse for the rear defroster, under the hood IIRC. Check that first.

EDIT: My bad, didn't catch the part about the top and bottom working. Disregard.

I have the exact same issue. It's the only thing on my truck that doesn't work like it's supposed to.

Every year before I go up north I have intentions of troubleshooting it, and every year I forget. My truck is in VA right now, and I won't see it again until Christmas, but between now and then I'm going to do some research and figure out what's going on with it.

I'll dig into the electrical diagrams tomorrow morning and post some info on where to start checking voltages. I'd do it now but the bar is calling. :beer::cheers:
