hey guys, just thought i would share a few pics of my new AV system. my neighbor and i installed everything over the course of two days. it makes me feel good to ride in my truck again, makes it feel nice and new again!!

Looks pretty amazing. I like the choice of components, if i could afford all JL right now, i would do the same. I dont really dig the angled subwoofer installs, but i like that box a lot. How do you like the JL XRs? were they pretty easy to install?

yeah i wasnt too sure if i liked the angled subs either, but my neighbor convinced me to do it, but its fairly easy to change so if i get too many more comments like yours than i will change them. the jl xrs rock, very loud and clear! they were almost painless to install, if you take the whole door panel dissassembly out of the mix. i know JL equipment is really expensive, but check ebay out guys, i got both subs for 100 each. got the amps for 330 (500/1) and 300 (300/4) on ebay with warrantys for around 36$ extra, so i now have a 3 year warranty on the amps which is 2 years better than JL offers if you buy it in the store for twice as much! i just bought one thing at a time and pretty soon i was like, whoa i need to install this stuff. i also couldnt have afforded to do this if i had to pay someone else to install. so knowing how to do it and having a friend helps out a bunch. i figure i saved a couple hundred by doing it myself!

eh... here are some things you need to know about a "warranty" you get on "ebay"...

Honestly, they don't have to honor it. Once you recieved your product and you've left feedback, you can't do anything if your amp messes up. Best of luck with that.

2nd of all the warranty you get in a store means JL fixes it, not some average joe sitting behind a computer who is selling JL equipment illegally. JL is not allowed to be sold online by authorized dealers, so some sort of compromise has been made to offer you "new" equipment online. JL will not honor any sort of warranty without it returning from an authorized dealer WITH recepit. Also they track where there equipment gets shipped to..ie the authorized dealer...

Another thing to keep in mind...when you purchase from a retailer, THEY take care of the problem. You do nothing but bring the car in. If its fairly new they'll swap the equipment out to save you the hassle of waiting to have it shipped back.

Buying online is NOT a good idea unless you are buying from an authorized dealer. You may get it cheap and you may have no problems at all... Personally I'll pay a couple hundred more to save me the headache of having something go wrong.

My advice is don't buy stuff like that on ebay... esp not NEW stuff advertised by someone offering a warranty because thats just more of a scam. I'd possibly buy something from someone just getting rid of their stuff more so than an unauthorized dealer.
