03-09 4runner immobiliser ecu location

I am working on a engine swap, and I need an immobiliser ecu and matching key. I found a junk yard that has a complete 4runner, and they are looking for the immobiliser ecu, but can't find it.

I am thinking it is behind the glove box and it might be in-between the firewall and HVAC box. I found pictures of the ecu and it's little cover, but nothing showing its location.

Can anyone verify for me the location??

What kind of engine swap?

You can't just bolt in an immobilizer ECU and expect it to work. It needs to be reset via a TIS Techstream (which only a licensed Locksmith or Toyota Dealer can do) and then paired with the ECM before keys are registered to it.

Usually they are sandwiched between the HVAC housing and the firewall on Toyotas.

Here is the location of the engine immobilizer for a 4th gen. It is located above the cabin filter, mounted to the steel framework under the dash. Because of the steel shield and that the mounting bolts are facing up, the complete dash pad has to be removed.
