Unless that thing has less than 10k miles, you're asking wayyyy too much, and even then, it better be a V8.

There are people picking up brand new V6 sports for about that.

Well actually....

It has 10,500 miles, is a V8 with 4WD, and is priced below blue blook according to NADA, KBB, and edmunds - and is one of the lowest listings on autotrader for my area. Not to mention the invoice for a new SR5, 2WD, V6 is 24.6K. The same model new has and invoice of 29.9k and MSRP of 33.6k. So, maybe you can explain to me why you think this is "wayyyy too much."

Because:

1) It's used
2) It's 3+ years old
3) No leather interior
4) No sunroof

"EXCELLENT" condition Kelly Blue Book shows it to be $22,445.

Best of luck selling; I just think it's pretty high for where '03s are these days.

Just for reference, I've got essentially the same truck with 33k on it and I was just offered 20k for trade-in without haggling, I probably could have got a little more had I wanted to go through with the sale.

22k to 24k seems reasonable.

I really wish you luck of selling your vehicle, but here an example that you may have to consider. I'm in the process of getting rid of my 06 Sport Edition V8. It's in like new condition with not even a single scratch. 4,800 miles with factory alarm, Borla catback, 6 CD Premium sound system. Original MSRP was $35.7xx. CARMAX offered me $24 k even, and local dealer wants my baby for $22.8K. Ofcourse, if I trade it in for another Toyota than it would save me 23k of sale tax toward to the new vehicle. However, I'm thinking to get the Nissan Frontirer. Who is to blame for the downward resale value of our SUV. Gas price does kill it.

No real need to sell your 4Runner to buy a pickup truck... With the money you'd lose on trade-in, you could spend a fraction of that on a trailer to haul anything around that you wouldn't want inside the back of your 4Runner.

Just something to consider. Storage for a trailer and the cost of a basic utility trailer would only be a small fraction of what you'd lose on trading in such a new vehicle.

My first option was exactly what you said. Get a trailer. Unfortunately, I live in suck-ass community where service van, trailer, and boat are prohibited. And the trailer storage is 5-6 mile away from where I live. So, a Tacoma double cab or the New Nissan Fontier crew cab is the way to go. But for now, Nissan Fontier was the first I test drive and it will be the only one on my shopping list. However, I 'm still working on a deal with a friend of my brother whose has a big backyard, which we can use to store both our service van and trailder. If everything worked out OK, then I will keep the 4runner.
