Finally getting around to actually introducing myself on here.
I bought this 2003 V6 2WD about 2 years ago. Currently in my family we have 2 Tundras, a Sequoia, and 2 4Runners. . So we like our early 2000s Toyota trucks.
Anyway I found this one on Charlotte craigslist for a great price. Found out it spent the first 10 years of its life in Reynosa, Mexico. The underside is spotless.
Current mileage is just shy of 208k
When I first bought it at 178k I did the following stuff...
-spark plugs
-valve cover gaskets
-radiator hoses
-water pump
-thermostat
-front and rear calipers and pads
-transmission filter/drain and fill
-Bilstein 5100s
Thats about all I can come up with right now, I'm sure theres more.
I'm sort of patiently awaiting the whole head gasket thing, but I'll cross that bridge if the time comes. As it sits it runs and drives great, taken it on many 1000+ mile road trips without a single problem.
Love this thing, hope to get at least another 100k out of it.

Change out your rear diff vent.

and pcv valve.

stupid simple but very important if don't work. and chances are no one changes them anymore. Dealer certainly doesn't

Changed out the PCV about a month ago, the seal was shot so it leaked everywhere. Im replacing a bad U-Joint tomorrow, Ill check out the diff breather. Appreciate the suggestion

Not a relaxing Labor Day

Id been chasing a bearing/diff noise for around 12 thousand miles. So today I pulled the rear axles and the 3rd member out. The passenger side rear wheel bearing is pretty loud if you spin it. So I ordered both wheel bearings, I figure Ill replace them both since I have the axles out.
Also I noticed the diff has huge amount of backlash and is pretty loud if you spin it by hand, not really sure there, taking it to the mechanic so he can check it out.
So much for a relaxing labor day weekend....
