03 4Runner rear differential oil capacity?

Hi,
I just replaced the rear diff oil of my 03 4Runner, V8 2WD with Mobil-1 75-90W synthetic gear oil. The shop manual specified 3.22 US quarts but I was only able to put in exactly 3 quarts when it started to drip out of the filler hole.

How much gear oil did you guys put in?

were you parked on a level surface? I just fill up the diff until it flows out and put the plug back in.

I wouldn't worry. Maybe there was a little oil that didn't drain out. Check it again in few months. You should be fine.

Yes, it was parked in my garage on level ground and I just thought I asked, just in case.
