04 4-Runner 60k still good brakes??

My wife has a 04 4-runner with 60k on it.
We bought the truck new, and I have been "waiting" to change the brakes.

Based on my previous dodge truck, the fronts needed pads at 35k.

At 60k my 4-runner looks like it has another 40k left on them.

This is the Sport model with towing package, and larger rims. (I think better brakes)

I purchased toyota ceramics and new rotors for replacements. I do notice a tad of vibration when the brakes are warm. (towing small camper)

Anyone else in my same situation with brakes?

are you saiding that the oem stock pads are ceramics? that cool i did not know that! i have 33k on my and it has a little under 1/2 inch left i think.

No... They are standard pads.
I bought ceramic for replacements.

I have 48k miles on mine with the stock brakes and they still have a lot of useable life on them. I have the "smaller" brakes but upgraded to the 17's if that makes a difference.

I've got over 100K on mine, and they are still fine. It all depends on how you drive.

How did you upgrade to 17"? Are you just talking the wheels, or the brakes as well? When I do finally get around to changing mine out, I'm going to SS lines and upgraded fluid.

I have almost 70k on mine and they still have a lot of life left....

I am at 55K and will replace my front pads before the 60K service. Stealership said I had about 10% life left, which really means there is really 50K more miles left.

what if they were telling you the truth? who would be saving money if your brakes fail? I'd rather spend the money now and change the pads.

I had purchased replacement pads at 35K miles. After seeing how much pad was left (95% of my miles are highway), the new replacements wont go on for quite some time.
