04 4Runner A/C and multi function display out. Clock only

Greetings,
I have a 2004 4Runner. Today the all the climate controls (A/C, heat) switches stopped working. They don't even light up. No power. Also, the trip computer which shows mileage and fuel range is blank. Only the clock is working. I have pulled every fuse in the interior fuse panel and also the one in the engine bay. I also checked several relays by switching known good ones around. No luck. I was reading some other threads that seemed to have a similar problem and ended up replacing the A/C amplifier which fixed their issue. As that part is over $350 I was hoping to get some advice here before throwing expensive parts at this. Photo below.

To be honest if this is something beyond what you’re able to do mechanically or diagnostically .. I would definitely pay for sometime at mechanic shop if you have or even dealership... usually will be able to figure this out in first 30 min or hour of diagnosis time... and will tel you EXACTLY what is needed .. before you just randomly throw 350$ on the amp..

Thank you. I see no reason this would be beyond my ability to diagnose or repair but if it comes to it I would take it in. Hoping to get some advice from others who have had the same problem.

Not taking a shot at your ability but if you are not good with diagnosing mechanical as well as electrical wiring like diagrams etc then pay for an hour of diag. Maybe less stressful and better than just throwing $350 at the problem

I am quite good at diagnosing mechanical/electrical issues. In fact, I tend to fix most things myself successfully. With that said, often other people have already gone through a similar situation and have actual advice to give which is why I am on this forum. So again, thank you.

Was not a shot like I said .. lol I simply said maybe if can’t figure out pay to get diag time at a shop before spending money on something to hope that’s what it is.. that’s all. Anyways that was my advice. Good luck brother.

The fuse panel near the driver that you have already checked, just asking, did you ohm out the 15 amp ?

Everything else I read points to the A/C amplifier you mentioned.

Yes I did read that stuff also. I checked the fuses visually but did not use an ohmmeter on anything yet. I could do that for sure. I found a used working amplifier for $50. I am waiting for it to arrive and will update why I find then. Thanks for the feedback.

Well the $50 used A/C Amplifier from Ebay arrived today. Had the old one out in 30 minutes even though it is buried in behind much of the dashboard. Plugged it in and it is working as good as new! Buttoned it back up in less than 30 minutes. Wife is happy and I saved some substantial $$$.
