'04 Fuel Filter?

Does this model really not have a normal fuel filter? There's no replacement schedule in the maintenance manual and they don't show one anywhere. Seems weird. Has anyone added an aftermarket filter to help protect the injectors from clogging?
Also, do I really have to change the rubber gasket on the fuel filler cap as often and they say in the manual? Seems like if it hasn't split it should be OK.

I've car that is 12 y/old with original fuel filter and no issues of any kind. I dont see a need to replace it unless you have some questionable fuel in your area.

Correct me if I'm wrong guys, but I recall that the fuel filter is in the tank and never needs to be replaced.
