04 sr5 cel help

My 04 SR5 has check engine VHC, and track light on. The truck now has 130,000 miles. She starts up fine runs smooth and has codes PO136, PO156. Replaced all oxygen sensors with OEM Denso, cleaned MAF sensor then replaced it with new OEM Denso one when my mechanic said it was that. He wanted to charge me 350.00 but I new I could pick one up at rock auto for 85.00 so I told him to leave the keys in the mail box at his place and I would pick them up. Low and behold there was a bill for 96.00 for the diagnostic. Needless to say I was very upset when the check engine light along with the other lights came on. Air filter new gas cap new. Did almost everything I found that could cause the lights to come on. I even sprayed ether around the intake manifold, no change. Had Monroe muffler check for exhaust leak. Nothing found am I missing something or do I have to continue replacing parts. I really love my truck and would like to keep it but if I'm going to start having major problems I will unload it. Can anyone help with some answers I would be more than thankful.

VHC or VSC?

I had the Engine, VSC and Traction lights come on at the same time as well.

The manual says there's an issue with the Traction Control and you need to take it to the dealership "immediately". The sentences before says there's no issue with daily driving. Autozone said the "Check Engine Light" was for O2, or catalytic converter issue. I specifically asked about the traction control and he couldn't tell me anything. Chalked it up as inexperienced, wasn't really expecting much and got even less from Autozone.

So I put it off taking it to the dealership.

Monday evening leaving work, the lights came on. Either Thursday morning or Friday morning, no lights and I haven't had a problem since.

This all happened 4 weeks ago. Mine's an 05 SRS with ~135K miles as well.

Sorry I don't have a specific list of corrective actions to do.

I have a 03 sport ed and i had the same cel codes. So I replaced all the sensors and the codes was still there. I took it to a electrical specialists and the found the connector to be dirty from dirty.

Have you cleared the codes? I had a recurring code that apparently kept coming back because it was never cleared after the repair. Once the code was cleared it never came back.

Still need help on CEL

I still have not found the problem. Replaced MAF and cleared codes comes back on after a few miles.

This might sound like a stupid question, but how dirty is your air filter? If you air filter is fairly dirty, it will cause you to "run rich" because of the lack of airflow and then your ecu will see that and try to compensate with fuel and so forth.

The best thing to do is to get a scan tool and see how your a/f o2 sensor are acting on a graph. the voltage they range from is 1v-5v i believe. I had a bad a/f o2 sensor that was consistently going from about 1v to 5v and repeated this cycle while the good a/f o2 sensor was fluctuating between 3v to 4v.

And you made sure you bought the upstream right/left a/f ratio o2 sensor and not the downstream standard o2 sensor? Also, check to make sure you didn't blow your o2 heater fuse, when i replaced my a/f o2 sensor, the fuse blew and i replaced it.

Lights still on

Cleared codes for the eight time. Truck starts and runs fine but is loosing some gas mileage. Cleared the codes and figured I would try the zero calibration again since I replaced the MAF sensor. Oh yea I also replaced the spark plugs after clearing the codes. All the plugs looked almost new after 25,000 miles replaced them anyway. Low and behold the lights are back on after 30 miles. I am at my wits end with theses lights. I know it has to be something I'm missing. I really love my truck and have not had any issues with it except for the front calipers witch was an easy fix. Same codes PO136 & PO156. HELP:yell:

Believe it or not I am still having the same problem. The codes keep going from one side to the other. I have replaced all the 02 sensors twice with Denso. OEMs I have replaced the MAF sensor spark plugs and gas cap performed the zero calibration. Ran great for two weeks gas mileage went back to 20.9. Today all the lights are back on with code po156 bank2 sensor2. Anyone know the answer?
