04 V8 rough acceleration

Like the title says, my 04 sport V8 feels a little rough under hard acceleration or acceleration under load. It feels fine I link and cruising, but if I’m trying to accelerate up a hill it feels like it has a little bit of a vibration to it. Tried my google FU and it sounded like it could be a torque converter, I called a local transmission shop describe the issue and they said nope that’s not it. The timing belt was done at 120,000 miles and I currently have 160,000 miles so I doubt that is it either. Anyone have any ideas?

My first thought is spark plugs, than air filter, PCV, Trans fluid and filter, ect, well, maybe check the air filter first being that's the easier one. Knowing what has been done recently for service or maintenance may help know what to suggest next to answer your question?

If this is a transmission 'shutter' issue, there is some additives you could try, I've used the Lucas transmission fluid conditioner https://lucasoil.com/products/trans...-oil-automatic-transmission-fluid-conditioner, it's 20 ounces and the instructions say you can add it all without harm, https://lucasoil.com/media/k2/galleries/336/zhd-automatic-trans-fluid-conditioner.jpg even if your fluid is already full, but that's obviously up to your discretion, on my 4Runner I added about 13 to 15 ounces but on my Matrix I siphoned out 20 ounces before adding it.

Some possible items to look at for your engine lacking power:

faulty spark plugs (original / when were they last changed?)
dirty/clogged engine air filter
sub-standard fuel (impurities in your gas)
clogged fuel injectors
air leak at intake manifold
low or uneven cylinder compression pressures
