05 Inside of Front Left Tire rubbing

Just changed the oil this morning and noticed that there's been some serious rubbing on the inside of the front left tire against what I think is a knuckle. While parked, it is not touching the tire while facing straight, turned hard right, or hard left, but the rubbing definitely lines up with the tab that sticks out. I'm going to add a pic as I'm sure my description isn't making much sense. By the way, I have stock size tires P265/65 17, & stock rim.

Your tire and the knuckle move together so i dont think your tire is rubbing the knuckles. Have you been in a automatic car was, looks more like where the tire rubbed along the guiding track

could be low tire pressure, set it at 34-36

Not ruling anything out this point, however, tire pressure has never been an issue & I can't remember the last time it went through a car wash. I took the tire off & that tab part that sticks out is shiny clean & it lines up with the rub marks. A storm rolled in yesterday so I had to stop investigating. I'm going to put some chalk lines on the sidewall today and see if they get rubbed.

Is there any play in the wheel bearings? That would be the only thing that would allow the tire to rub, other than a bent steering knuckle. I do know that the tires were also close on my 4th gen with the OEM wheels but they never touched.

I have the same clean spot on my knuckles/spindles.

Today i installed 275/55r20 on my new 2022 limited 4runner with stock wheels, while i am driving straight there is a rubbing sound at low speeds as i drive straight. There is not rubbing when i turn the tyres towards full left or full right. I wanted to ask you what this sound of the tyres could be ?

You may have better luck in the 5th gen section, but my guess would be to look at the tires and see if you notice any areas with visible rubbing.

If thats not successful or if its difficult to tell, I'd get a piece of sidewalk chalk and rub it over all areas that you suspect to be rubbing. Face of tire, sidewall, frame, UCA areas. Then drive a short distance (like up and back your street or something) to repeat the noise and take a look at the chalk marks to see if there any indication of rubbing shown by worn away chalk

Any resolution?

Ive got the exact same thing on my 03 prado. 1mm gouge of of inner tyre, lines up exactly with the nipple on the steering knuckle. both sides. Dealer has no idea, said 'might be a bent knuckle' and thats $500- a piece. I cant see any purpose for this nipple, so I reckon I'll probly grind it off
