05 Owners, Is this a good deal on a sport V8?

The price I have worked out is $30,539 for an 05 Sport V8 with the following options.

JBL Synthesis 3-in-1 Stereo w/6-Disc Changer
Power Sunroof
Rear Spoiler

Does this sound like a fair deal? Has anyone else got better pricing? I have my check in hand to purchase the truck and just waiting to sell my Cobra before I go pick it up.

Is this a 4wd or 2wd? If it is a 4wd, it is an amazing deal. Those usually have a list of around $35,000. I would jump on it!!

I bought mine in MA. Drove up from NJ to get it. At that time they had a $1,000 rebate. now it's $1,250. So I can see that other people are picking up my exact same specs for $29,250. They have several of these left. Same specs in silver, stratosphere mica, and galactica gray.


Is it worth it for you to take a trip up here? Maybe for vacation? or Just buy a plane ticket for a nice vacation while you buy the car.


oh yea, one other thing. Your stereo decision is important. If you get the upgraded JBL system you won't be able to install a Scion headunit (available for ~$100). It pays mp3's and sound quality is much better. You'll also lose the cargo bay backup mirrors with the JBL system.

I actually liked the JBL system and I think the addition of one 12 inch sub and a nice amp would make me very happy. I'm also not to concerned with the backup mirrors.

I most likely wouldn't make that far of a trip to get a better deal then what has been offered to me here. It wouldn't be worth the money I would lose at work from taking the time off.

In my case, sticker was $36,405 but dealer invoice was ~$29 and then ~$32,500 with all the options:
- Floormats and trunk mat
- Leather Seats
- JBL Synthesis 3in1 w/10 speakers-DJAT
- Double Decker Cargo
- Power Tilt/Slide Moonroom w/sunshade
- Daytime Running Lights

So I started with
$32,500
+ 700 dealer profit (dealer also got 650 holdback so they really made $1350 which is more than fair)
+ 2,300 (7% sales tax)

$35,500
- 1,000 cash back
+ 500 doc fee
+ 50 tag/title

$35,050

so i wrote them a check for $35k out the door, plus I got them to throw in the stock cloth seat covers, because I really didnt want the leather (but now I love it...much softer than I imagined and doesnt get too hot or cold with the weather)

so my sticker was $36,4 and yours is $35,4 ...I paid $32,5 before taxes so $31,5 would be a good deal for you....soooooo $30,5 is even better I'd say good deal.

be sure to check for any cash back that the dealer my be keeping for themselves...and check out what the dealer holdback is (pure profit for them)

The price sounds about right. I paid $29401 for my 05 V8 SE in January. This includes the $1000 rebate.
It has everything you want except the sunroof and JBL. It was just of the truck when I bought it. 1 mile on it and still wrapped in paper.

Man! I can't wait to sell my FX. I am working out a great deal with my car broker. I've bought 4 cars thru him so (kind of) trust him.

He is selling my FX on consignment. I will pay him $1,500 to sell my car. This will net me a little over $30,000 which we will treat as a trade in for my 4 runner. This way I get to save some $ money on tax.

He is out there looking for my 4 runner. I'll probably still get a used one since the difference is till over $5,000.

I am bringing them the FX today. He's got a guy coming to look at it on Wed. I hope to be driving my 4 runner within 2 weeks.

Update.

Signed the deal yesterday and should be able to pick my new truck up on Monday. It's a titanium 05 Sport and I ended up paying $30,517 before tax, tag, and title. The dealer didn't have the truck with my specific color and options so I provided with them with local dealers who did. They are going to DX it for me. Can't wait!!

I already have the new wheels picked out which I will order once the truck in in my possesion along with XM radio, sub/amp, tinted windows, and window gaurds. I'm looking for the part number for the silverstars right now so I can order them as well. I was also looking into an air intake but have came up short in finding one so I guess I will do a drop in K&N for now. A few months from now I am going to also slap on the Magnaflow cat-back and it's very possible I will install leather as well. I've actually had my eye on a leather/suede combo similar to that of my recently sold Cobra.
