05 Sport V6 4x4 dealer price...

I recently contacted a dealer in Kansas City, KS and received a price for a 05 v6 4x4 sport with a MSRP of 33,741. I finally talked him down to 28,690. Just checking to see what you thought about the final price.
I am also trading in my 2000 Dodge Ram pickup. He is going to give me 10,000 for the truck.
My final price out the door with my truck is 18,690.

I am hoping that this is a good deal.

I think its a great price on the 4runner. If you are happy with the amount your getting on your truck, I say go for it. I bought a 05 SR5 4 days ago and managed to get a little more than $3500 off the sticker. You are getting way more than that off yours.

That's a good price as long as it's before the Toyota rebate.

The price he quoted you is near or at invoice, but what about the rebate? You should be able to get the car at invoice minus the rebate.

So your saying you would be paying 28690 out the door? If so thats too good to be true. Unless your getting a special COP discount. If thats out the door or not thats still a great deal, go buy it. Invoice on that is around 30k!

Nope, I am not getting any type of discount. I just wrote the internet manager the price I was willing to pay. He was reluctant to sell the vehicle for 28690, but he ended up calling me at home and letting me know that he was going to be able to sell it to me.
I still have to get a hold of him and put down a deposit.

He is probably already figuring the rebate on that price. They usually assume the customer is not going to inquire deeply about the final price , and they take the rebate. Ask him about it and make sure. If you still want the truck, go for it. It's a reasonable price.

Yes, when I went to pick-up my 05 they had the rebate going to them (they included it in our negotiated price). I told them that the rebate was not even mentioned when we were negotiating. I told them, while I got up out of the signing chair, "The rebate is mine and if not, I'm walking". I knew they could not let me walk; they had a leftover 04 with the same options on the show room with a big sign giving $6000 off.

Not to highjack the thread but, Usually at least what I have seen Foriegn automobiles ie; Toyota, Nissan, etc don't offer very big rebates. I've been told mainly because they hold their value alot longer.

Based on my experience, that's a good deal on the Sport model. Does it have any other options?

BTW - calculate the value of that 1K rebate vs. 0% financing (if they still offer it). I figured that I only had to make a 4-5% on my money for the financing to be a better deal, so i went the interest-free route.

I thought I got a really good deal for mine, $28.5k including some package that included cargo mats and emergancy kit.

They were preasured to make their end of year quota but there was no rebates were around then.

You may could get a little bit better deal with the rebate.
