06-09 head lamp questions

I was wondering does anyone know what the difference between 06-09 SR5/Limited vs. 06-09 Sport head lamps are besides the fact the Sport's are slightly tinted/smoked?

All for sale listing on like Ebay always specifi they will fit a sport only and not a SR5 or limited...

They look the same to me but the brackets or something must be different??

Also does anyone have a link to a write up on taking apart OEM head lights.
I've heard the oven etc... but I have yet to see a good write up...

I think I am going to mod my existing lights since there isn't many/any options for us 06-09 4runners out there that I can find....

I'm thinking about body color matching the chrome part of the head light housings (my truck is navy blue) then having a body shop tape off and paint the eye lids on the lens... of course doing the angel eyes while I have them torn apart. Already have the Hids I got from kb car stuff which have been working out great. I also installed some super bright yellow putco lights in the foggies thought it would look retro... I'll have to remember to post some pics at night with all my lights on...

I had done a search on the angel eyes and found all those links you posted and done quite a bit of searching for head lamps that are ready to go. I did get lazy on trying to find a DIY write up on the taking apart head lamps.(not gonna lie) I honestly just wanted to see if I missed anything with all the searching I have been doing on aftermarket head lamps.

So much easier to buy a ready made product but sometimes quality suffers... The old saying you get what you pay for...

And again I was totally joking on the jerk comment... :boxing:
