06-09 LED Tail Light 188$ a pair?

Do the factory LED tail lamps just plug in like these aftermarkets? If I decide to go with factory, do I just ask for '06 LED tail lamps? I have a '04 model.

Can someone help me? Am I being re****ed here? I bought the LED tail lights from autopartsavenue but there is no way these connectors are the same. This is what my brake connector looks like:

you DO get what you pay for.. that's why i don't do $1 lapdances anymore... eace:

I'd rather pay $1 lapdance for a 1 minute song rather than a $20 lapdance for a 2-minute song.

The other end appears to be the same as the bulb base for the taillights, so it should plug into the OEM bulb holder sockets.

I bought them, and wasnt really happy. The outer edge fit literally up against the paint. It didnt have that uniform gap like the OEM lights do. I tried everything to get it to fit better. The top was tight against the paint, while the bottom had a noticeable gap. Overall the fit just wasnt right. I was worried this would eventually rub my paint somehow too. They werent fitting near as tight as OEM either. I could rock the tail light side to side even after tightening everything down VERY well.

Also I couldnt get the left turn signal to work. Something was defective. I swapped every bulb from right to left with every combination possible to rule that out. Had to something in the build.

On the plus side. The LEDs looked great. Most wont be as OCD as I am about the fit. But it bothered me. Even more so when it was different from the left to right side. The customer service was excellent though. They offered to send me a new left tail light. But ended up just letting me return both for a full refund, and paid for my return shipping.


Maybe Im weird, just got a bad set, or my 4runner is shaped funny. Its still worth a shot for anyone wanting LED tails. Customer service was top notch for me, if something ends up being wrong with them.

Sorry to hear about that. Truthfully, your story is nothing new to me (in terms of non-OE parts). I am still on the look out for used OEM ones.

It was worth the gamble for me, after seeing a few good reviews. In the end, nothing was lost so its a non issue. Im usually the same way about non OE parts though.
