06 Sport Edition AWD (looking to buy it)

Been looking at 4runners when I came across this one locally. When I saw the price on it I dismissed it. It has 102k on it and the dealer had $18,900 on it. After exchanging a few emails he told me he would straight up swap me for my vehicle, which I still owe just under 18k for. I'm currently in a 05 crew cab Z71 and have been looking to save on gas and get something with a cheaper payment. Now If I do the swap Ill be saving several hundred dollars due to the fact my current loan is at 13 or 14% where as my new loan will be at no more than 4%. But the 4runner has more miles than my truck. Also with this Toyota being sold at a Toyota dealership, what are my chances for some type of extended warranty? Do these years have anything specifically wrong with them? Should I be leery of 100k mile 4runner? Also after looking thru the carfax, the vehicle came from a one owner and all the maintenance records show all services done at the local Toyota dealer religiously.

So your looking at a AWD model with a V8? if so the make sure the timing belt has been changed? 100k miles doesn't bother me to much if it is a good price. FYI I just bought a 06' sport with 50k miles but choose to spend a extra $4000 on it over 4runners with 100k miles.

I doubt your gas mileage will be much higher...

If I were you I'd buy a slightly older Tacoma AND an old Civic for the money you get from the Chevy. Then you have a truck when you need it and a gas sipper when you don't.

Its the V6 model 4wd model, not AWD, srry

Turtle, Believe me I have struggle with the concept of going from a truck to an SUV. I was actually looking at a mid size truck but I would lose significant interior room, and with having a 2 yr old, the car seat/ stroller and other odd and end things tend to take up quite a bit of space. So after mulling it over for a few weeks I think an SUV would suit me better. I will need to get a trailer though. I dont haul tons of stuff (load of mulch once a year- with a trailer ha) but I will miss the small stuff that I take for granted just being able to throw in the bed (garbage cans, weed eater, etc)

^ ^ :iagree: I used to have double cab tacoma. The interior had room and good size rear seat and I had the bed covered for storage. That really worked for me.
