Hey guys...picked up an 07 Limited with Navi, Bluetooth, back-up camera, and I believe 8-speaker (I counted 8: Center dash, 2x front tweeters, 2x front doors, 2x rear doors, and 1x subwoofer) JBL system. Been reading up on all of the information on here and Im really wanting to change out my HU for a nicer aftermarket unit with more features. I already ordered the Urban Runner trim, but just read last night that it won't work in my Limited model :sobbing:
With that being said, I measured the overall din size it appears to be ~8" diagonally....What is the largest double din I can squeeze into this space?? Has anyone tried installing an 8" double din? I haven't decided on a replacement HU yet because I wanted to start with the correct DIN sized HU.
I understand that I will need a PAC unit to retain steering wheel controls for the music, but will this unit also allow me to use the phone/Bluetooth controls on the steering wheel? Regarding the back-up camera, I assume that as long as my replacement HU has the capabilities, that the back-up camera should be a plug-and-play affair? What can I expect when I rip out the factory navi? I plan on selling the factory unit. Do I need to pull out the factory navi antenna?
Lastly, I do plan on upgrading my speakers in the future, but for the time being, do you guys think an upgraded HU will make things sound better?? Sorry for the super long post and thanks in advance for reading and helping.
