07 Sport to 13 Trail

thoughts -
i currently have an 07 sport - v6 - 200k+ - absolutely no issues. I saw a 2013 Trail with 28K on the odometer. i
This year and body have always been a favorite of mine - and it is also in a color i like - silver.

dealer is asking $28k for it. the only odd anomaly is that it appears that the vehicle came from Canada originally and now is in Massachusetts.

thoughts on the price, mileage, etc?

i really am a big fan of them. been looking for a long time. this one has very low miles. for what it's worth the CarFax report came back clean. i know that doesn't mean much but it's something.

going to take a look friday.

think the price is fair or over priced?

Sounds really fair to me, especially for the mileage. I would still negotiate as aggressively as possible, but I agree with the other person, the 13 Trail is sexy, and crawl control can't be beat. Get it!!!
 
The one thing I'd say is inspect it very closely. Early Canadian SR5's look a lot like US trail models because they had the black trim just like the trail models and I doubt the dealers would know that. So make sure its a true trail model.

Seems fair to me, I've seen them priced over 30 with twice the miles.
 
so to throw another monkey wrench into this process - my local dealer has a 2017 off road premium - 32k miles..asking $32k....

so do i go with the 2013 or the 2017?

That’s a really good deal. If you can swing it comfortably, give this one some serious thought. The only reason I bought new in 2017 was because the used were holding their value so well, the price difference wasn’t noticeable enough to buy used.

Also, just my opinion; the 2013 Trail is one of the sexiest 4Runners ever, on the outside. But when it came to interior, especially the blue dash lights as opposed to the 2013’s orange lights, the 2014+ dash was by far better for my liking. Since that’s what I personally see the most, that’s what held the biggest impact on my decision. Look at some Google images of both exterior designs and interior dash all lit up. See what fits you best.

the difference in price isn't an issue. i am going to take a look at the 2017 this weekend and take it for a ride and go from there.

These are also harder to come by. If you’re on the fence between the 2013 and the facelift era, you may be happiest knowing you’ve picked up a rare gem, rather than the common mall crawler. But I do love my common mall crawler!

I have a 2013 Trail with right at 37k on it and I couldn't be more pleased with it overall. I do a good deal of light to moderate wheeling in it (I have a SAS'd 2007 FJ Cruiser for the serious stuff) and I've had zero issues with it to date.
 
follow up - 2017 sold before i got back. the 2013 is still there. they won't budge on the price.

almost tempted just to stay put for now and wait. it's nice not having a car payment and my 4Runner is fine.

maybe i will just mod it a bit more.
