1/15/05 Meet

Looks like you had a great time. Where exactly did you meet? Those cakes are awesome! If that is any indication of the rest of the food I need to get there if I'm ever in the area.

"Do you have a link for the canadian side visors?" Whats this about? I didn't think we had something different up here.

The Canadian Side Visors are the window vent visors that are available through the Toyota dealerships in Canada. They are more aerodynamic than the ones available in the US. If you look at the pic of my truck that Bobby posted, you'll see them. The front visors flow directly into the rear ones. The part number is C0500-35023.

i wish i could have gone, but i was looking for a new place to live. i'm glad you guys had a good time and enjoyed the food. i hope to be hitting up Harold's later this week.

question for the guy w/ the tint on the front windows: do you get harassed at all by the police for them?

after seeing those pics, it makes me want a bullbar myself… maybe in time

I don't have tint on my 4Runner yet but I have 35% on my M3 with a black interior (which makes it look darker) and I don't get harassed at all. They do tend to pull me over because of my exhaust though :(.

I have the $25 pre-cut factory tint for the front windows but I'm waiting until I have time/gets warm before I put it on. The hardest part of tinting is cutting the tint film. Applying it is pretty easy.

Get a bull bar! :D.

i REALLY want the tint BAD, however, i'm worried about the Holmdel cops in my GFs neighborhood. Mark86 can attest to how bad they are. i don't know if it's worth the aggravation. what's funny is, i'm more worried about them than the cops in my neighborhood

as far as a bullbar goes, i think i may, but being i have the metallic silver, i'd prefer a chrome bar, but i'm not willing to drop $500 or whatever for one… i wish i could see pics of a black one on a silver 4Run to help make a decision…

Can't comment on the police in Homdel but most don't even notice front window tint. If you do get pulled over, turn on all the interior lights (at night) and lower both front windows. Keep your hands on the steering wheels and tell the cop before you reach for your wallet and registration. They'll usually forget about the windows.

The westin chrome bar is about $250 + install kit of $20 or so but the bar is pretty wimpy looking (Hi chunderboy! :D). The T&H bar is $388 for chrome, $325 for black. We were talking about this at the meet. Chrome would definitely look better on a silver 4Runner even though I'm not a fan of chrome.

the cops in Holmdel are overpaid and have little to do, so they bust balls any chance they can get.

yeah, i'm not a huge fan of chrome either, but just to make the truck look consistent, i'd opt for it… thanx for the prices and such, i'll look them up now

Was that extra wheel an option we can't get in the north?

Where is that restaurant?

the restaurant is in Edison, NJ. i'm not sure how familiar you are with NJ, but it's essentially off exit 10 of the NJTurnpike at the Raritan Center.

if you wanna see more of the food, go here:

Chunderboy - At least you have a 4Runner :D :p :D. (ask him about this)

Looks like u guys had a good time. I was busy running all over NJ but would have loved to stopped by.

With a few references to Chunderboy I will be the first to ask. What happened? Also I know there was mention of a get together this coming weekend on the 22nd..... Is that still a go?

I have 35% tint on mine and I haven't had a problem. I work in Middletown (next town over from Holmdel). You can also slide open your sunroof visor to let additional light in...that helps.

It seems that chunderboy's 4Runner, despite being a Sport Edition, has all the wrong options. He's got the JBL stereo so he can't upgrade to the Scion HU. He wasn't too pleased to find this out after he heard my Scion HU. Then there's the Westin bull bar with 5" lights. And the tranny cooler on my v8 that he doesn't have (not that it makes a difference). But I pointed out to him that his oil filter was easier to get to than the v8's.

We were just giving him a hard time :D.

Thanks for the info. Definitely looks worth a detour there if I'm anywhere close in the future!

That should've been singular... Steering wheel.

I thought you might have an extra steering wheel for the passenger side so that he also has something to hang onto before Bubba the Sheriff blows him away on a "routine" traffic stop!

Hey Guys,

I did a little searching and came up with two places.

1. Paragon $35 + $5 (passengers) per day

http://www.paragonap.com/p_rates.htm

Trail Ratings - Moderate (for stock vehicle)

http://www.paragonap.com/p_adventure_levels.htm

2. Island Beach State Park $50 for 3 day weekend pass (must get prior approved permit) Must have mandatory equipment including personal fishing gear for each person over 12 years old. We could ride throughout, fish, camp/barbeque, hang and BS.

The meet

Yea, bobby thanks for rubbing salt in the wounds. LOL

Yea the tint is my rig. No problems as of yet (g-d willing that continues). And yes bobby, your HU is better, but mine was cleaner. HEHE.

The lights make a huuuuuuge difference. they are the piaa 540's. A little pricey, but man do they light up the road something ugly.

It was a great time meeting with yall, we gotta' do it again soon.
