1.25" vs 1.5" vs 2" Wheel Spacers

Wheels spacers are next up on my list, but I can't decide on which size to get.

I know that Spidertrax only makes 1.25", but All-Pro makes all three sizes.

Right now I'm running 265/70/17 on Tundra rims. When I turn the wheels the tire is fairly close to my Limited flares.

Will any of these sizes cause rubbing?

Which of the three sizes will bring the tires closest to the Limited flares?

Pictures would also be helpful.

Im pretty sure i have the spidertrax 1.25 and my 315's stick out a couple of inches past the limited fender flares and just barely rub the frame under full lock.

Also, make sure you buy hubcentric spacers or it will vibrate.

They are 4.5" backspacing.

240- Those tires are a solid 2" wider than mine. So I guess 1.5" or 2" is the way to go.


The reason I was curious about 2" is because I haven't heard of anyone using those. That's a pretty big spacer.

I wouldn't want a 2" spacer. I have the 1.25" AllPro's, and I think it is about perfect. I'll try to snag some pics for you.

Fact: The rear axle is ~1/2" narrower than the front track.

Wish I had known that before I bought mine. Again, the quarter inch isn't really a big deal to me, but I think it would look better.

Is there a reason it is narrower?

Thanks for the pictures. They are helpful. Looks like those tires are pretty flush. I could probably go up to 1.5", but I don't like the look if the tires stick out too far.

I think those rims are either 4.5" or 4.8" backspacing.

Good to know. I wonder if it's a good idea to get a 1/2" smaller for the fronts to even things out or if they need the 1/2" difference.

The rear is a total of 1/2" narrower so you would want spacers that are each a 1/4" thicker. I would have done 1.5" in back and 1.25" in front if ST sold 1.5s.

Yep. I just added some 1.25" spacers I had in my garage, and I am rubbing on the pnch weld now. I was not rubbing beforehand. And I am running 2" of lift up front.

I guess I need to start doing some cutting.... :shrug:

Whoa! Talking about 1.5-2inch! 1.25 is the max you guys should run, depending on the wheel offset. Eg: Stock wheels + 1.25 spacers are plenty good. You start going bigger spacer, you're looking at wheel bearing replacement much much sooner and more often. Especially if you guys wheel your trucks! I'm running Sequoia 17 inch wheels with the All-Pro 1.25 spacers, it see's a lot of wheeling and touring duty. I've replaced both front wheel bearings this past june.

The rubbing is due to the larger arc of the front wheels while turning. Spacers and less backspacing (virtually the same thing) sometimes will cause rubbing. The only rubbing I had pre-spacers was at full stuff in front and this was only the inside top of the front wheel wells.

Post-spacers. I rub on the pinchweld and the top wheel well lip, front. Still nothing in back.

I have the Sequoia's too. Is yours a Limited? I really want my tires flush with the flares.

It's an SR5. Limited flares stick out quite a bit, at the same time like I mentioned, the most you want to go on these are 1.25inch. Even then, the flares may protrude a tad further than the tires.

When possible always go hub centric, extended length lug nuts especially on the front, I got the 1.5" allpro's.
