1.25 vs 1.5 Wheel Spacers 2006-2009 Runner

Hi all,

I searched around on the forum and found many threads on wheel spacers, including AJ's article on install and trimming. The 06-09 model years have wider fender flares and an interesting indea of using 1.25' on the front and 1.5' on the rear has been suggested, which theorectically speaking would make the tires truly flush with the wheel wells / fender flares.

I couldn't find anyone talking about or showing pictures of the actual results of this set up, or someone who is running 1.5' on all four, for 06-09 model years.

I ordered two 1.25's and two 1.5's (all hub centric) from Allpro and they told me that the 1.25's are on back order.

I'll be really interested in seeing some PICTURES and reading some first hand experiences from anyone who's either running 1.25 on front and 1.5 on rear OR running 1.5 all around, SPECIFICALLY on 06-09 model years....

Also, questions:

1) Sounds like running 1.25 front and 1.5 rear would make the stance/measurements perfect for 06-09 model years. Is there any negative impact of running slightly different sizes of wheel spacers front and rear?

2) Would running 1.5 all around make the wheels stick out too much, especially the front?

3) Would running 1.5 (especially in the front) cause more rubbing and necessitate more trimming?

I'm running 265/70/17 Warden's from TW (after my Terra Grapplers gracefully worn out after 60k) on factory sports wheels and will NOT upsize to 285. Will install bilstein 5100's with FJ springs all around to get rid of the front rake within a couple of weeks.

I run the 1.25" spacers all around and, although I'm happy with my look, I would deffinitely sport the 1.5's as well

When your buying spacers, your buying for looks.. With that in mind I wanted to make sure that if I spent that kind of money, I could notice the difference. That's why I went w/ 1.5" spacers. And I think they give the perfect stance. (pics in sig)

I changed the pair of 1.25"s to 1.5" and they'll be able to ship all four out either today or latest tomorrow. I just do not want to wait for 3 weeks or more. Since I'm ripping out the X-reas (they're leaking) and putting in the 5100's and FJ springs within the next week or two, I'd rather just do it all at once as opposed to separately. 1/4 inch difference each side on the front probably wouldn't make that big of a difference anyways. A long camping trip is coming up in less than 3 weeks and I hope to get it done before then. I don't rock crawl or anything, but I do take the truck out onto moderate trails in high elevations pretty often to get to the starting points of backpacking trips.

Techmen17, just read your build thread - nice job! That's a LOT of trimming you had to do with those aggressive MT tires and they're still rubbing! Time to take the bumper off
