Hi Tim,
I wanted to also say thanks for the videos. You all helped me through the Tundra brake upgrade and made it real easy.
I know making money and growing your channel aren't the ultimate goal, but in an effort to broaden your audience (I'm in marketing, I can't help it), you may consider similar cars - like doing maintenance and mods on Tacomas or Tundras, or even helping local JeepBros with their lifts and 21 inch wheels. (Just kidding - sorta).
Either way, I think Tacomas might be a great next step, if you needed ideas.
That's a great idea and I've considered doing that. I peddle our videos on Tacoma World, 1st Gens, because they are very similar to our 3rd Gens but the response is pretty tame. I've been on many other forums and Facebook pages sharing our videos, like Yota Tech, Toyota Nation, 3rd Gen Mafia, and Toyotaholics. By far, our forum is heads and tails better than any of those sites. We have the nicest and most helpful members for any Toyota Forum out there, bar none. 3rd Gen Mafia members like our stuff but that Facebook page is also filled with a lot of unhelpful people. Somebody asks for help with a problem and at least 50% of the comments are just people cracking jokes and not being helpful. I have a sense of humor, but if somebody is asking for help, I'm not going to respond with a joke or stupid comment.

Dude, we are not fast. You're seeing the cut down Hollywood version of what actually occurred. We sometimes put some of our struggles in the video so people can see areas that hung us up, but we are very slow and methodical mechanics. If we figured out our hourly wage based on the time we took doing a job, we'd probably be making minimum wage.

Actually watched your belt replacement video yesterday to see what I'd be getting myself into replacing all my belts. Overall, looks like a tedious, tight squeeze, doable job lol.

BTW, what are you using for video recording? The only reason I ask is cus sometimes the audio sounds muffled.

GoPro Hero 2....
Most of the earlier videos didn't have the external mic so the audio isn't the greatest..
But all new videos moving forward should sound 10X better because of the mic we stuck in the side of the gopro
I've seen your show on youtube and didn't realize you guys were on here. I'm a mechanic but sometimes its best to see a video when you haven't done something to visualize what you gotta do over looking at the fsm and see a pic. Unfortunately, I think I'm gonna have to sell my 4runner. I need a reliable car now and don't really have time to have a project car like my 4runner. Mine still needs a few suspension pieces. I did the tundra/5100 front with ome906/5100 rear but still needs an alignment, tune up, gaskets, and some bushing work in the rear. I have no time to work on my car and just sold the family mobile and need a new one for the baby.

We're using a GoPro, I think the Hero 3 (Edit, Sean just said the Hero 2) We got a lot of comments that the audio sucked so we drilled a hole into the case and added an external mic and the audio improved greatly. Sean bought a new GoPro and we'll be putting it to work soon once we buy the necessary adapter to add an external mic. The protective case muffles the audio but the case is necessary because we're always bumping the camera into stuff trying to get a good shot of what we're working on and we've dropped the camera several times as well reaching into tight spots and losing our grip on the case.

Well, if you do decide to give up your 3rd Gen, you could always pick up another one when you have more money and time. 3rd Gen 4runners are going to continue to be on the road for a long, long time so you can always come back and rejoin the club.
Yeah! I was really excited too. Took me months to find one that had a decent frame. Its okay though. I'll get another when I'm in a better situation. Keep up the good work. If I had someone that could hold the camera, I would post up some videos to help people out.

I really appreciate the videos you guys make. Such a huge help! I don't think I would have done the valve cover gaskets or the LCA bushings without the vids. I understand the value of these videos and the time it takes to make them that is why any time an opportunity presents itself to pitch these videos to people on other sites as well as in person.

I meant to add that I also made my first parts purchase from Camelback Toyota. I ordered a pair of the Tundra front springs to complete a 2" lift. It would be great if they had a coupon code that we could use to get you a small commission for parts purchases driven by the channel. The prices already seem fair. I saved over $100 compared to the local Toyota dealer in Clovis.

We already celebrated a month ago. I think we went to the Farmer's Union in downtown San Jose. Good food and a great beer selection.
