You guys have any tips for taking the rear upper shock nut off? I've been fighting the gas tank one for two days and at this point I'm about to cut the stock shock off. I can't seem to get a good enough grip on the shock to keep it from spinning when I try to take the nut off. Any ideas you guys may have would be awesome. Love the videos!

Just grab a big pair of channel locks and hold onto the body of the shock. If it's the shock spindle shaft that's spinning on you, that's a different story. Usually, there's some way to hold the spindle from spinning whether it's using an allen wrench like Bilstein like to use or it's just a flattened head that you could get a small open end or crescent wrench on there. If you have to use a wrench to hold the spindle from turning, you'll need a ratcheting box end wrench like the Gear Wrench company sells. You turn the spindle so the allen or other wrench is resting against the frame and then you turn your ratcheting wrench to remove the top nut.

I intend to use the gold mine of information and instruction that you have provided to learn how to work on vehicles. My 4runner is in need of some suspension work and after i get this dang P.E. exam done I am gonna start a new hobby: working on my 4runner. Nothin fancy planned, just the basics. Your videos have helped me realise how big or small a job can really be.
Wish I was in the area to meet up and lend a noob hand!
Quick question to finish: what adapter are you using on your impact to get the awkward angle stuff? Looks like a pivot thingy!

Somebody already answered it but the pivot thingy is a swivel and they come in very handy.
Another tool that I recently discovered is Wobble Extensions. The way the heads are made gives the extension the ability to move some thus the name wobble. It allows you to get onto the fastener you're trying to remove easier. Here's a link:

I subscribed today. I have to say that your videos are the most well put together DIY how-tos that I have seen and I know I speak for a lot of people when I say that we appreciate it. Takes all the guess work out. I think you were sitting at almost 4K subscribers when I clicked the button today.
