Okki while these are words to live by you know it's going to disappoint a lot of the guys here! This is why my 4Runner remains stock with the exception of tires and recovery. I think I have learned the hard way every one of those ten rules in the past. Great post! I think I will add that link to my signature.

LOL.. yeah.. now let me go back to pulling the power cable out of my fuse box! HAHAhHahahahahahaa:cheers:

The Group 31M is the only thing I did to the OEM electrical system that required some minor mods; everything else is fully separated. I gave up on extending the OEM alternator/main power cables. The write up is next on my list with the findings and experiences.

Okki

I posted this same article on my facebook page. It's a great read! It definitely leans toward keeping things simple and functional. Great information!

Haha I'm honestly curious. I've read a lot of his posts and he seems like a very no-nonsense guy(as most engineers I've met are) and from what I've read doesn't seem like the kind of guy to buy something that isn't worth the money. So I'd like to know what's worth considering.

This is true

I was just trying to mess with him :hiding:

They forgot the most important one...do whatever makes you happy and motivates you to get out and explore! If that means hanging a bunch of crap off your truck who cares?

I have:
Duct Tape
Swiss Army Knife
Matches
Towels
Adjustable Pliers (Qty 2) Large and Small
Rope (lots of it)
Pry Bar
Screw Driver (Philips and Flat and Torx, those bastards)

Is there anything I am missing? Yes, I know I don't really need the pry bar but it is nice to have extra tools - just in case.

For recovery? I'd have a jack, and a couple (probably 6 actually) of snatch blocks at least if you don't run a winch or hi-lift for mechanical advantage.
