102" cb antenna photo request

A thorough search has only turned up one photo of what I am considering.

Mounted at rear tail light, a 102" whip antenna. Is anybody using this setup? I am trying to get a feel for what it would look like both standing up, and curved down and tied to roof rack for clearance. A few photos would be great!

For those who have tried this, did the whip tag the paint any when swaying? Was it necessary to protect the body paint somehow? What brand whip? Mounted on spring, or straight to bracket?

For bending the antenna down and tying to the roof rack for better clearance, what do you use to tie it down and insulate?

*How is the range compared to the more commonly used 4' fiberglass antennas?

not on the tail light but close to where it would be. i love mine and it has never touched the truck and range is awesome. i mounted it on a spring which really helps with swaying somehow, plus gives it the correct electrical length. when i need to, i grab a piece of 100lb fishing line with an "S" hook on it and hook it to the roof rack floor.

i had a whip. i just zip tied it down.

Josh, can we please get some more details of your front and rear bumper builds? and the wind faring on the front of your roof rack?

was hoping to produce some but i need to upgrade tools something fierce before trying to build more. the wind fairing is a piece of plexiglass from lowes cut to shape and sprayed with rustoleum bedliner, then zip-tied to the rack. has been on there for several thousand miles and works perfectly with zero issues.

Thanks for the shots guys. I still can't decide! 4' Wilson Flex Silver Load vs DX Engineering 102" whip.

I did order a Cobra 75, and a ODL mount bracket today. Took me a few days to get past the cobra 75 vs cobra 19 question.

Weighing the pros and cons.

Nothing out performs the whip. With the spring its the correct electrical length (1/4 wave length). I just wanting to know I had the best functioning antenna setup as a good antenna is a bigger plus than good radio.

finally got mine on!!

i moved the end of the whip to the front of the roof rack b/c i didnt like the bend
