-12 wheel offset

so i have a 97 with a 3" toytec lift coil setup with aftermarket upper control arms that i just installed to replace a RC coil over lift spacer. the previous owner had installed what i think are 1.75 wheel spacer with newer tacoma 17 rims. i think the offset on those rims is like 30mm. I want to get new rims and get rid of the spacers. im looking at a wheel tire combo that is 16x9 285-75-16 but the wheel offset choices are 00 and -12. i was hoping for -6 do you think -12 is too much. anyone else running that with a similar setup?

Whats the width of your current wheels? Don't forget to take that into consideration.

-6 is going to fit differently on 6" wide wheel than on 8" wide wheel. the -/+ offset starts from dead center of the wheel. So 8" wide 0 offset wheel will come out 1" more than a 6" wheel

-6 to -12 offset is barley anything. Your talking less than a quater of a inch. Just get the -12 and remove the spacers. I will be running 17x9 -12 285' 17's once my lift is on next week.

I have 17x9 et0 with 315/70
I wish I would have gotten the -12, because the tires rub the frame at full lock. I'm sure 285s wouldn't though, because the 315s barely rub.
Do you have flares? The 9" wide wheel with -12 offset might stick out more than you'd like if you don't have flares.
The et0 will give you a smaller scrub radius than the et-12, and will give you more tire clearance.

yeah so my current wheels are 17x7.5 with a 30mm offset. (08 17" tacoma wheels) new wheels would be 16x9 -12 offset which is roughly a 1.6" difference according to the calculator i was using. i do have fender flares but i dont mind the side getting dirty. i like the wide look. i measured the distance between the tire and the new upper control arms and it is right at 1.75 clearance at ride height.

KM2's are being discontinued very very very soon. KM3 will be released in the "hopefully" near future.
Firestones IMO are garbage, but that is my .02 cents. If you want a good mud terrain, look at the Cooper STT Pro, one of my best sellers at work. Also I mean, lets be honest the KO2 BFG is probably the best tire.

You live in Phoenix right? Discount Tire country. Go see any one of those guys, they the best in the business.
