130K Maintenance?

Have an 07 Sport approaching 130,000 miles. After reading on here that I have a timing chain and not a timing belt what other things should I keep an eye on to keep her running like new? Spark Plugs and breaks were done at 100k. All the guys with around 200k on your trucks what maintenance did you have done? I want to keep this car for a lonnnng time.

If transmission fluid was not changed at 100K then time to change it. I changed my 06 when I purchased it at 120K as it was not done previously. Do the full fluid exchange using the cooler lines. Really easy to do and you will be good for another 100K.

Coolant change is usually done at 100K for the first time too. After that every 50K.

Other things to do are to clean the thottle body and MAF sensor if it has not been done before. Remove the battery cable to reset the ECU when you clean it.

Check for leaks. It was about 130K or so when I had to replace the valve cover gaskets.

The transmission fluid has never been done. Aren't you suppose to leave it if it hasn't been touched before. A lot of mechanics have suggested not changing it for some reason. I know nothing about cars, I always appreciate the feedback

A lot of opinions on the transmission fluid on the board on changing at high mileage. To me 130K is not high mileage on a 4runner. Changed mine at 120K or a little higher and I am very pleased to have new fluid in the transmission and it is still shifting great at 156K. I plan on keeping both my 4runners for a long time (300K or more) so I will be changing the transmission fluid at least every 100K maybe 60K for the second change especially if I tow anything. My second T4R has 79K on it will be changed before I get past 100K. I will only use Toyota WS fluid, takes about 12 qt and for 100 dollars well worth it! Also gives you a chance to inspect the transmission lines for rot & corrosion.

As long as you're in there, replace the PCV valve. It's cheap insurance against oil leaks.

haha good call double checked what they recommended and they have PCV valve, along with MAF sensor. Ill get all of it done when I do my Cat and 02 sensors next.
