This video aside, whatever happened to Plan A?
You know, thinking and acting responsibly?

I feel very sorry for our kids for the world they have to grow up in because of our mistakes and the mistakes of generations before us.

Most girls I knew at 15 were "sexually active", and didn't have a plan at all. Plan B sounds better than nothing any day of the week to me.

Too many of today's parents don't know the first thing about parenting. Many are self centered idiots who put their jobs and personal interests ahead of their kids. They have no sense of "family", what that should mean, and the actual work and effort involved in raising responsible, honest, caring people.

A 5 year old shot his 2 year old sister today. No surprise actually. In Kentucky is not uncommon for a 5 YEAR OLD TO HAVE A GUN!! Who are these imbeciles that walk this Earth. I'll bet anything that the low life who gave the kid the gun AND FAILED TO LOCK IT UP at some point bragged about it to someone.

These two stories infuriate me.

Almost as much as the wrong wax eh :lmao:

I bet you gonna tell me that you've never made a poor choice/decision in your life?

Agreed though that the kid that got hold of the gun is inexcusable!!

Billy, don't be ridiculous. We've all made plenty of mistakes in our lives, but very few can say that their mistakes resulted in creating a life or taking another.

Being a parent means teaching kids right from wrong, and how to be responsible with the gift of life when it comes to important topics like sex, guns, and how to treat your fellow humans.

Plan B

As a liberty-minded conservative AND a taxpayer, I would much rather see the "Plan B" pill used. It is a better choice than seeking to have an abortion several weeks later OR to bring another child into the world who is going to be a ward of the state.

The last thing a teenage girl should be doing is adding another mouth to feed - especially when she is not even capable of supporting herself.

What kind of parent lets their 14 year old daughter wear pants with the word "juicy" on the butt but then I see her 40 year old mom with "milf" on her butt and then they go home and watch MTV's Teen Mom and then we wonder why we have a pill like this.

There's a simply alot of irresponsible parenting going on probably more than ever.

Another wonderful update: Ruling on Plan B Pill for All Ages Appealed by U.S. - Bloomberg

Who needs condoms anymore? With Plan B, you can have all the sex you want...i don't need to know anything about STD's and HIV! Now, if I take Plan B like vitamins, then who needs oral contraceptives! I wonder what is the side effect of Plan B taking like vitamins over the long haul?? Will tax payers have to pay for the long-term effects (which we have little info on)? Will there be a class-action suit against the govt for this? Who will pay for this?

Yeah, some parents suck. Is that something new? All of a sudden, we need to fix this problem by giving a "Get Out of Jail Free card?? Maybe we need to create an atmosphere of responsibility...rather than the liberal atmosphere that has stormed our country. Instead of blaming ourselves, our country loves to blame someone else...and the government has leeched on this to make us all depend on government for all our needs. Instead of instilling values in our kids, the government now concentrates on destroying the foundation of our society. Hey, we forbid anyone from saying, "Easter" in school...instead, here's Plan B to help you celebrate your day off! (Again, I am not a Christian...but religions other than Muslim are generally good and teaches good values...and recognizes that religion has a strong influence on our great society values.)

We have gotten this way in our society because we have let it. There is no overwhelming force that caused this. I guess that this is just part of the pendulum swing.

As a 23 year old who lost their virginity at 16, I really wish I could take it back. The culture at that age was to have sex as early as possible, and my parents never really gave me a talk of any kind. So being young and dumb, I never gave a second thought to any potential consequences. There's a major agenda out there that falsely promises zero consequences of any kind for engaging in sex at such an early age. I strongly urge all of you parents on here to please take the time to explain to your kids that they need to use good judgement and set high standards and values for themselves. It's just my opinion, but I don't feel that any child still in high school (or younger) has any business having sex. If you as parents emphasize the importance of waiting, you will not only help your child be a better and more mature person, but you are also taking a stand against the sex drive agenda crap that the stupid media constantly targets us with.

I don't mean to offend anyone in the slightest by my own views. Although I feel sex should be reserved for marriage, the main point I ask you is this: What kind of message do you want to send to our next generation? Do you want your 17 year old son to think of sex simply as a way to feel good, and women as objects? Would you want your 14 year old daughter to have no boundaries of any kind, and thereby lose all sense of self respect?

I only hope that if I should have children someday, that they will make better choices than I did. But it gives me great hope seeing on this thread that there are other people on here who are fed up with the sex culture that kids are having to deal with.

Ah.... here comes the crap-ola......liberals..... conservatives........ government makes us depend on them.......... government has leeched...... blah.... blah.... blah......

This is absolute complete nonsense.

For a liberal like yourself, I can see how it offends you to hear/read what I wrote. I am deeply sorry for that. I have 3 young kids growing up...I wrote because I care about this country. You may not have kids to realize the world that we are leaving behind for them. If you do have kids, then I wish that you open your eyes.

How many of you that have posted in this thread so far have kids that are over 18? I have two, a son (18) and a daughter getting ready to turn 21. We did our best to raise our kids to the best of our ability. My daughter is a senior in college working on her BS in Nursing and my son is a sophomore working on his BSME engineering. With all that said, all the parenting skills in the world do not take the place of your kid's peers. You can teach them right from wrong but it only takes one stupid kid to influence your child and take them to a place from which they may never return. Drugs, alcohol, sex, and any number of cult like groups from gangs to emo's to goth's to some religious groups . While we were very lucky and still have a very close relationship with our kids I watched many "good" kids from strong families go south and never fully recover.

Now to plan "B," forget for a minute your own righteous moral (or immoral) values. Plan B is at least an alternative. For those of you who think it will lead to more promiscuity? Ha, that's a laugh. Don't any of you remember what you were thinking when you were 15? If you tell me anything but girls you are lying or homosexual. No, it won't lead to more teenage sex but it could prevent a life changing mistake.

In a perfect world abstinence is king, our kids do no wrong and are raised by responsible parents. Unfortunately this is not a perfect world and you just have to do your best. We taught our kids abstinence is best, but we did not leave out the part of condoms and birth control pills. To do so would have been irresponsible. And lastly, to the above poster who thinks, even for a second, that a threat of bodily harm to a guy who fools with your daughter will change their behavior - let me know how that works out lol. Talk big now but that will change, trust me.

The most important piece of advice I can give a parent is this:
Keep your kids busy from the time they are two til they turn 21. Get them involved in church youth groups, sports teams, school plays, boy or girl scouts, gymnastics or anything. DO NOT let them raise themselves or spend all their time in their rooms or at the mall. If you follow this simple advice, then you are helping "choose" their peers by encouraging them to participate in some activity. My kids both chose sports and one played and the other is still playing soccer at the collegiate level. If you do this, chances are your kids won't ever need to take that pill.

While I agree with you, my parents did raise 4 boys. None of us are gay. We are all married, well off, and none had sex in high school. We were not Christians either. We were raised the old-fashion way. No church group. No scout. My parents was very watchful over our activities...my mother knew my whole schedule in school! No, they were not overbearing, but I also knew the grave consequences of doing stupid things...they gave me enough ground to grow, but I knew my limits and the consequences of going over it.

Does Plan B lead to more sex? I don't know. You don't know either. Brushing it aside as an impossibility is not good either. It is a social experiment that will teach us down the road. Does it lead to medical issues? We will find out from the folks that take it regularly. It is a medical experiment as well. Who will pay for all this and the consequences? Me, you, kids, etc..

Of course, as noted above, some liberal folks are pushing for Plan B for ALL AGES. Nice. 1engineer, your kids are grown up and doing well...you're lucky. It sucks when you are the parent of kids that are about to enter this world with today's wide open sexual policies.

For all the Dad's on here with daughters, be sure to mention to their boyfriends that guns don't kill people, you do :D

It offends me not at all. I have two sons, one in HS and one in college, and they are taught that they are rewarded by the effort and persistence they put into anything work or play. Don't blame anyone when things don't go your way. Results are up to YOU. Like when they tell me "well everyone is failing that class. Teachers sucks.". Bullshit. Do the work. Get the grades. Don't care about the others.

Your words are ridiculous and a total cop out.

And you call me a "liberal" because I despise guns. I do, but you're very narrow minded Mr Thai.

If your kids make a poor decision (and I sincerely hope they never do) then there's only themselves and possibly you to blame. Believe me, I share your fears everyday. The possibilities only get wilder as they get older.

Actually, to be honest, if my kids make a poor decision, then it is my and my wife's fault. We are to blame for screwing up. Just like my parents, they take pride in how we turn out and responsibility when we screw up.

Now, when they are out on their own and do stupid things, well, they are dumbsh!ts for doing it. :D

While your teacher point is debatable, I do see your point in this. But if a child makes a bad decision, is it their fault? Or is part of the blame on the parents for not teaching their kids the information needed to make better decisions?
