Looking for some experience/advice with the following combo:

-16 x 7.5” FJ Cruiser Black Trail Edition Wheels, 15mm Offset
-285/75/16 BFG All-Terrain T/A KO 2
-Toytec Ultimate (~3in), stock UCAs
-No BL

Has anyone run this combo and can comment on rubbing/need for wheel spacers, etc?

Here is a pic as sliders were going on and old tires BFG (265/75/16) just to make this a little more interesting.

Answer to this question was...NO

Min rubbing on stock UCAs at full lock

Problem solved with some Spidertrax 1.25" spacers, not ideal solution but will work for now.

Otherwise pretty tight fit but I haven't noticed any other rubbing (yet)

The problem with spacers, 285s and certain wheels is that the rubbing is pretty rough and the spacers make it worse.

Is your front sway bar installed? With it removed you will rub on the stock UCAs but when installed you should barely rub at all.

Addco sway bars installed...all good on the road. I have yet to disconnect and wheel. I will report back what happens.

I hope that's a street queen or you have some major work ahead of you when you wheel the piss out of it. I did the same tires and my life is a little complicated now lol My truck has wheel spacers and stock 3 split spoke rims and NO sway bars at all. At full flex the truck is trying to remove it's own body panels. For what it's worth, why lift a truck then limit it's flex with sway bars etc. if you plan on using it....?

At this point in my life (the Air Force has moved my family away from Colorado...living in south Texas with 2 young kids) my 4runner is more of street queen then I would prefer. We hit the beach quite a bit and do some minor off-roading here and there (which probably doesn't require any mods). I admit I did get the mod-bug...damn you T4R.com and have done more than I ever planned/needed for my current situation...that happen to anyone else on here? I keep hopes high I will move back west in the not too distant future but only time will tell.

With that said...my build was based on the plan we were moving away from Texas (already been here 4 years)...instead I was just extended 3 more years. I think I see a roadtrip west in my future...lets see what those body panels are made of!

Nice, if you make it back up to Colorado lets hit the dirt! I will test my sheet metal and work out the kinks and let you know what you need to do before you come beat that beast to death on the trails lol.

Also, I am going to give this a go soon but you can grind the stock UCA's back and weld a piece of plate to them to give more tire clearance. I also am not too happy about having wheel spacers but the wide stance did help with stability through corners etc. so it's a give and take thing. I think even without the wheel spacers my tires would hit the firewall etc. like crazy while wheeling. I don't want to cut painted parts so that will be part of my plan of attack.... If it was a rusty POS this would be SOOO MUCH easier!
