Getting new rims for my 2004 SR5 that will eventually go on Cooper STT Pros. Not sure if I should stick with 17's or go smaller. So my question is 16's or 17's.
Thank you

17s give you a lot more tire options, plus give you more room for brakes in case you ever want to add the bigger 5th gen calipers and rotors.

Do you wheel your truck at all? Some prefer more sidewall so 16s would be better. But yes 17s will have a lot more options for tires

When I was wheel shopping there were tons of new take-off 16" Tacoma rims on Craigslist and such. I've got the "Sport" model with the bigger brakes already so that's a no-go. I lucked into some new take-off 17" Snowflake 4runner SR5 rims from a local dealership (with lugs/centers) for $200. Check with your local stealership. Sometimes I think the folks running the stockroom just get tired of tripping over boxes and dump that stuff cheap. At the time they had several sets of "new" OEM rims for cheap.

I am in the same boat as well. I can’t decide what size. Was going to go with a 16 but they are right there are more tire options for 17. But you get more sidewall with 16s good for wheelin
